First Writing for the Month of June...6/1/18..."WORDS OF LIFE"

Good morning,

Today's writing is shared by Cathy Friberg who writes at the beginning of every month. The writing  is called, "WORDS OF LIFEwhich discusses how the words of scripture give learning and teachings about God and His teachings.When we read the words of life we become more effective in life as we live in obedience;
Cathy wrote, "I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed us with The Divine Scriptures. We can count on these verses of truth to see us through every situation we might encounter. Nothing is more dependable or certain and unchanging.
It is a blessing to read the words of life which equips us to live the life that God loves to see in us.

Blessings from
Cathy Friberg

"WORDS OF LIFE"

Written by
Cathy Friberg

Recently, I have been thinking about how much the Word of God means to me. When I am hurting, the Sacred Writings bring me comfort. When I am stressed or troubled the Bible brings me peace. If I am sad or lonely the "Good News" always delivers joy. Most of the time when I read or meditate on the appropriate scripture, it affects my emotions and perspective almost immediately. However, sometimes I need to cling to a verse for days until my heart catches up with my mind. I have found the Gospel of Light to be medicine for the soul as well for the body.

As we read The Word over and over it penetrates our conscious and subconscious thoughts. It is transformative, changing the way we think about our Creator, life, others, and ourselves.  When our outlook shifts, we can have peace in the midst of great trials, loss, and chaotic circumstances.  We begin to see things in view of eternity. We can think of those who hurt us with compassion and understanding rather than with bitterness and resentment.

Because God's Word is Spirit and Life, it touches us in a way that nothing else can. Lately I have found myself in situations which have caused loneliness and discouragement. I realize that I am hungering for the Holy Text. Upon reading it I find myself encouraged and filled spiritually and emotionally.

There are many scriptures which describe God's Word. For instance,
"Your Word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path."
Psalm 119:105

The Word is our guide.

"I have hidden your Word
in my heart
that I might not
sin against you."
Psalm 119:11

God's Word keeps us from sin.
"You are already clean
because of the Word
have spoken to you."
John 15:3 .

The Word cleanses our hearts.
"You are my refuge and shield;
I have put my hope in your Word."
Psalm 119:114

The Word of God offers us hope.

I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed us with The Divine Scriptures. We can count on these verses of truth to see us through every situation we might encounter. Nothing is more dependable or certain and unchanging. After all is said and done,
"Heaven and earth shall pass away,
but My Words shall not pass away."
Matthew 24:35
