Good morning,
The writing today speaks of the unfairness of life. However, when you recall how fair God is you will understand. He has different plans for everyone and works with each of us to give us the gifts He has planned for us so that we can meet the purposes that He has planned for us. Carol wrote, "I don't want to be compared to His pure holiness when I look at my sinfulness. I don't want to get what I really deserve -- eternal punishment and death. I don't want that kind of fairness!"
May you become aware of the fairness with which God blesses you. Do not look for fairness by comparing yourself to others.
Blessings,
Carol Steficek

"LIFE ISN'T FAIR"

their bodies are fat and sleek.
They are not in
trouble
as others are;
as others are;
they are not stricken
like the rest of mankind.
like the rest of mankind.
Therefore pride is their necklace;
violence covers them as a
garment."
Psalm 73:4-12
There are many places
in Scripture where evil seems to prevail and people who have no regard for
God's laws seem to win. Our justice
system isn't very just anymore. If you've raised children you can
remember the arguments between siblings, each wanting
their own way. If you told your child they couldn't do or have what their
friends had you undoubtedly heard the retort...
"It's not fair!"
I had five friends throughout my school years
and we did everything together. But one girl,who was the most
slender, could always eat up the last slice of pizza or whatever, and yet still
stayed thinner than the rest of us. It wasn't
fair! Even as adults, don't we sometimes look with a little envy at the
Joneses who might have a larger house, drive a more
expensive car, can afford to take vacations every year, and in general have
more "stuff" than we do?
"It's not fair."
It's hard not to live by comparisons in this world. But we can be glad
that God doesn't play by the same rules and isn't keeping a
scorecard. I don't want to be compared to His pure holiness when I look
at my sinfulness. I don't want to get what I really
deserve -- eternal punishment and death. I don't want that kind of
fairness!
Jesus paid our debts on the cross to give us the
Kingdom of Heaven and make us heirs of the promises of God. Now each of
us who believe in Jesus are clothed with His
righteousness.
I'm glad that,
because of Jesus Christ,
because of Jesus Christ,
life isn't fair!

God gives "unfairness" that results
the actual fairness that He has planned for us.
