Thursday Writing...8;/16/18..."Walking With Jesus"

Good Morning,

The theme of today's writing is the importance and the benefits of walking with Jesus.Karen wrote, "The Lord wants us to walk with Him and when we do, we benefit. We are the recipients of His love and all the gifts He showers on us. Our walk on this earth is a straight path to paradise."

It would be a good idEA to take a walk with Jesus today.

Today's devotional

 "Walking With Jesus"
Written by
 Karen Bennett

A few days ago I listened to a gospel song I hadn’t heard in years. It was one I had always enjoyed immensely called, “I’m On My Way To Heaven,” and is sung by Walt Mills. He sings, “The journey gets sweeter every day. Walking with Jesus, talking with Jesus, all along the way.” I began thinking of our beautiful walk with Jesus. He’s always with us, it’s never ending. He is but a whisper away!

I love the fact that our wonderful God is just waiting for us to start talking to Him as we walk our daily path at His side. Isn’t it fabulous that we don’t have to make an appointment or see if He is in and available at a moment’s notice for a walk-in? He’s there walking with us! We are His and He will never avoid us and our problems. He’s waiting for us to give them to Him so our burden will be removed from us. Jesus is our God, but He is also our friend. True friends are there for us when we need them and Christ is the truest friend we have ever, or will ever, have.

After a few minutes, it seemed so natural to let my mind drift back through time to some good times, but mostly difficult ones. I could clearly see where He had celebrated with me in good times, but His presence was so obvious in the bad times and the way He helped me through them!

There is never any room for doubt. He is the God of kept promises, the God of love unlike any other ever known. He walks with us on our path to eternity, illuminating every step of our way.

“He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and
to walk humbly with your God.”
Micah 6:8

The Lord wants us to walk with Him and when we do, we benefit. We are the recipients of His love and all the gifts He showers on us. Our walk on this earth is a straight path to paradise. Yes, there will be bumps in the road, but Jesus is there to lift you over them. All you need do is let Him.

Lord, our hearts are on fire with gratitude for your loving presence. Thank You for walking with us each moment of our lives and being so willing to show us the way. In Your name we pray. Amen.

Abide in Me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself
unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in Me.
John 15:4
