Good Morning,
The Saturday theme is concerned with the fact that people put material things foremost in our desires in live. People have the gimmies of the things they want to possess. It often becomes more important to them than the blessings of God. Carol wrote, "God wants to guide us through life and give us wisdom and a feeling of joy and accomplishment. Yet, God will not do this if we are not willing to change."
Have a blessed weekend!

"CHANGE ME"

"Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my
anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in
the way everlasting."
Psalm 139:23, 24
Most people are dissatisfied with at least something about
themselves or their lives. The problem is generally people want other
people or their circumstances to change. Life would be good if I could have a
different job, if my spouse would appreciate me more, if I could finally have
enough money to take that vacation I've always wanted, if I could have a bigger
house or more money, if I had the time or energy to go to the gym, or whatever
-- the list goes on.
With most people there are always excuses and rationalizations
for how they live their lives. Not many are ready to take a good look
within and to take responsibility for changing themselves -- and that is
generally what really needs to happen. God wants to change us. He wants
to remove all hurdles to our success and happiness that starts within
ourselves. He wants us to see His view of life and His vision for the
future. He wants us to rely on Him and not what we think or feel that we
can do without Him. God wants to guide us through life and give us wisdom
and a feeling of joy and accomplishment. Yet, God will not do this if we
are not willing to change. He will not force Himself or His ways upon us.
We must cry out to Him -- search me and lead me.
