Good Morning,
Today's Theme is based on Psalm 46:1-3 which has the following words, "Therefore we will not fear." It is the story of Horatio G. Spafford, who lost all four of his children in a catastrophic incident on the high seas. Only his wife survived. In the midst of this he sat down heart broken and wrote a song that showed his submission to this tragedy knowing that God had not abandoned him and his wife. Bre wrote, "Every single one of us goes through trials. Every single one of us needs to turn to God for help. Every single one of us feels like life is falling apart sometimes."
She used this story to show how a people of faith and courage handle heartbreak and challenge in their lives.

Therefore we will not fear,
though the earth give way
and the mountains fall
into the heart of the sea,
3
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake
with their surging.
Psalm 46:1-3
Every single one of us goes through trials. Every single
one of us needs to turn to God for help. Every single one of us feels like life
is falling apart sometimes.
I’m going to tell
you a short story about the author of the hymn that we all know and love, "It Is
Well With My Soul."
Horatio G. Spafford did not go with his family on this cruise because he had some work to complete first. While the family was crossing the Atlantic from the U.S. to Europe, there was an accident and the ship
crashed into another ship. This crash ended up taking his four daughters. His wife survived and wrote about it to him.
After this
happened, Horatio wrote, "It Is Well With My Soul." I hear this story
and think, what an amazing man of faith, or in young people terms “What a bad {or should I say rad?} dude!”

“When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul
Though Satan should buffet, though trials
should come,Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless
estate,And hath shed His own blood for my soul
It is well (it is well) with my soul (with my soul)It ss well, it is well with my soul
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious
thoughtMy sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no
more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my
soul It is well (it is well)With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul”

I have heard there is even more to this story. He had a son who had just passed away from some terrible disease common back then. After his son died, there was the Chicago fire and he lost some of his property because of that. A missionary friend invited him to England and he expected to go with his family but was told if he did not attend a meeting he would lose the land that his property had stood on. It was after his meeting as he was traveling to meet his wife in England that he asked to see the place where the ship accident had happened. It was there, in the ocean that he penned the famous words to the song It is well with my soul
