Monthly Writing for August...8/1/18..."GOD'S PLAN ~ YOUR PURPOSE"

Good morning.

Today's writing is by Cathy Friberg who writes at the beginning of every month. The writing  is called, "GOD'S PLAN ~~~ YOUR PURPOSE" The theme is about the importance of friends... knowing what purpose for which God has created you. Cathy wrote, "Your endeavors for the Lord are never in vain. Rather as a part of the Church, your prayers, your input and your efforts are significant. Whether you have been a follower of Christ for a few months or for decades, God has a place and a plan for you. Seek His face and walk in His will for your life. You are needed and you are loved."

Hope you enjoy this writing! It is a good time to thank the Lord that He has a plan for us. We need to attempt to understand what that plan entails and devote our lives following it. Doing this will enrich the fabric of our lives.

Blessings from
Cathy.............& Corinne

Month Writing for August

"GOD'S PLAN ~~~ YOUR PURPOSE"

Think you are insignificant? Think again. You are very important to God, to the Body of Christ, and to the world.

The other day I was helping my husband to work on his  '57 Chevy. We were attempting to put the hood back on over the engine. We were holding the hood up over our heads and trying to place four small bolts into their hinges. The hood was extremely heavy and the bolts were very difficult to maneuver into place.  While working on this project it became clear to me just how vital each of those little bolts were in the attachment of the hood to the car. The hood seemed so impressive and weighty in comparison to the tiny metal pieces which held it in place.

Looking at the car from the exterior, it's easy to see the significance of the broad smooth hood. "It shields and protects the engine and other components beneath it from weather elements and other materials of the road." (Taken from "Car hoods buying guide") The hood also adds to the aesthetic value of the car design.

However, not many people would consider the imperative role of the four small bolts holding the hood in place. The actual placement of that weighty hood over the engine was a dramatic and vivid experience for me. I realized something in the midst of my encounter with that imposing mass of steel. Without those little bolts the car hood was useless. It could not accomplish its job unless the bolts were present and functioning properly in their hinges. So it is with each member of the body of Christ. No matter how small or unimportant we may feel or appear, we are all indispensable!

As Christians, we each have a unique role to play in God's Divine plan. We were created with particular gifts and talents. As individuals we have been "wired" differently. Some people were designed to be in the spotlight. Leaders and organizers have special capabilities and skills. Among the congregation we find extroverts and those with the gift of gab. Others, however, love working behind the scenes. Listeners and comforters have an exceptional capacity for patience and showing mercy. There are those believers who thrive on carrying out tasks which some would consider mundane. Whatever your bent, please know that you are essential and vital to the Lord.

You may be the pivotal anchor and stability in a crucial plan or move of God. You may provide the flexibility which is desperately needed in a certain Spirit led activity or project. The enemy will always try to discourage us when we feel unappreciated or unnoticed. Other laborers may seem to be landing all the attention and accolades for their achievements. Remember, however, that our trophies are not always, in fact seldom are, earthly.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.
You are serving the Lord Christ."
 Colossians 3:23-24 (ESV)

Your endeavors for the Lord are never in vain. Rather as a part of the Church, your prayers, your input and your efforts are significant. Whether you have been a follower of Christ for a few months or for decades, God has a place and a plan for you. Seek His face and walk in His will for your life. You are needed and you are loved.

  1. This is such a great illustration of the significance of the smallest parts. And great for anyone who loves cars, or assembling things!
