Good Morning,
The first three deal directly with God, and how He wants us to love and obey Him. The first tells us we are to have no other gods. God should be first and foremost in our lives with all else to follow. Jesus said we are to love God with all our hearts, souls, and minds. If we would do this, the rest of the commandments would be far easier to follow.

"The Perfect Ten"
Today we have a list of the ten commandments. The really interesting part is that Karen pointed out the ideal way of living according to the computers. Then she lists in a very interesting way the choices that people would make if they did follow the commandments. Ir is done in a whimsical if only frame of mind. Here is a quote from this writing, "Our world would be a place of blissful peace if we obeyed God’s law. Try to envision a place of patience, kindness, no envy, no boasting, no pride. There would be no self seeking, no easy anger or keeping records of wrongs."
Wanting to live a life like this in the kind of world it would be!

"Humble
Yourself"

Just think of what a beautiful place our world would be if
everyone loved as God directed? God gave us the Ten Commandments as moral law,
as He directs us to live our lives for peace and joy in Him!
Commandments 4-10 deal with our love for each other. Jesus also
told us to love our neighbors as ourselves. What a joyous thought when we
realize decisions could be made without agonizing over them. Our children would
be raised to be kind and tolerant, to not ridicule or bully others. It
would be easier to stand our ground for the wants of our Lord and not back
down in favor of any other. Then all other conditions in our lives would be
easier to handle with total trust in the Lord!
Everything in the Commandments is about love, Christian love.
It’s love that summarizes the Moral Law. The Ten Commandments are all about God
and all about love. After all, God is Love.
“Love does no harm to its neighbor.
Therefore love is
the fulfillment of the law.”
Romans 13:10
Our world would be a place of blissful peace if we obeyed
God’s law. Try to envision a place of patience, kindness, no envy, no boasting,
no pride. There would be no self seeking, no easy anger or keeping records of
wrongs. We wouldn’t delight in evil, but rejoice with truth. We’d always
protect, trust, hope, and persevere, because love never fails. {Paraphrase of 1
Corinthians 13.)
We all know that love verse. Take time to read it through
slowly and concentrate on each phrase. You could then understand a good portion
of what your life would be like if we could follow God’s lawful direction.
Father, we have our failings, but we ask Your help in
following Your word as our way of life. Give us the strength and determination
to love You and all Your other children, even our enemies, that we may please
You, and realize the happiness You intend for our lives. One day we will
experience that joy in heaven, but with Your help, may we do the best we can to
obey Your law today, while we are still on earth. To Your glory and in Your
name we pray. Amen.

The ten commandments speak of loving God and our fellow man.
It gives us the rules to follow to use as guidelines.
It gives us the rules to follow to use as guidelines.
Jesus also followed these guidelines when He died for love of us
and in His death we were given eternal salvation.
