Thursday Writing..."Making a Palace"...5/10/18

Good Morning,

Today's writing inspired by a qoute from C.S. Lewis about how God watches over the remodel of us (actually our "house") as we strive to become the best we can be by following His leading. He wants us to be a palace for Him in which to dwell. Here is a quote from this writing, "He sent Jesus to be a sacrifice for us and to give us His righteousness in order to be with Him in eternity. He is building a mansion for Himself in which to dwell in us. His goodness is beyond comprehension."

May we all be blessed by His work in us.

Loving my path as His student and sister

Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what he is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on.

You knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make sense. What on earth is He up to?  The explanation is that he is building quite a different house from the one you thought of...throwing out a new wing
here, putting on an extra
                                  f
loor there, running up towers,                                  making courtyards.

You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage, but He is building up a palace.                He intends to come and live in it Himself.

Today's Devotional

"Making a Palace"

We all know that we come to earth with a lot of raw edges. Our days of life are a time of growth and of polishing these unprocessed fringes. It is a long process of construction and it starts to happen when we come to know Jesus as our God...our Savior. Many times we think we are doing the work as we grow in understandings, but we do not think much about what God is doing to polish us and perfect the work that is His to start with. The fact is that all the work is being orchestrated by God to guide us to be who He made us to be. This does not discount our roll in the process. If we do not listen or if we ignore God's leading it is not going to work.

The "house" in the quote of C.S. Lewis is symbolic for us. We are constantly being refined to heights of new elegance when we cooperate with His blueprint of plans for us to be the best we can be.

Why is He doing this? He created us for fellowship and companionship. God cannot be with anyone who has any duplicity inside. He sent Jesus to be a sacrifice for us and to give us His righteousness in order to be with Him in eternity. He is building a mansion for Himself in which to dwell in us. His goodness is beyond comprehension.

For God so loved the world
that He gave His only
Son.
Whoever puts his trust in
God’s Son
will not be lost but will have life that lasts
forever.
John 3:16
