Tuesday Writing... "Call Unto The Lord...."..8/2/27

Good morning,

Today's devotional is named  "Call Unto The Lord...." by the writer, Sandy Billingham. She is writing about something she witnessed  in a grocery store recently. A man was attempting to leave the store without paying for his groceries. This brought Sandy to the fact that this man needed Jesus, and she prayed for him. She shared that she would pray for him whenever she thought of it lifting him up to the Lord Jesus asking Him to reach out to the man and lead him to change his heart. Sandy wrote, "We have a God  that is not a respecter of persons and desires that  all men come to Him. That starts when we call on the name of the Lord Jesus. There is no other name, other than Jesus,  that  can save us from our sins as we humbly call onto Him... and the results are forever spending our life with the Lord Almighty. And Eternity is a long, long time..."

This kind of prayer is necessary on our part for anyone who has not called on the name of the Lord Jesus that that person realize the need to call in Him.

God bless,
Sandy and Corinne

Today's Devotional

  "Call Unto The Lord...."

I rushed to my local grocery store early this morning to beat the crowd.

Just as I was soon to enter the store, a man with a cart full of groceries was coming out. Right behind him the manager spoke very boldly to him  asking if he could show him the receipt for the groceries in his cart. The manager repeated himself again, demanding he show him the receipt. I  heard  the man say that he had dropped it, and then he suddenly took  the cart and just shoved it inside the store and walked away. The manager followed him to his car and got a snapshot of his license plate.

I began my shopping but couldn't get the man that had apparently tried to shoplift out of my mind. I began to pray for him for a few minutes. I could picture the man in my mind, and I can recall how sullen and downhearted he looked as I watched him earlier. He definitely needed Christ in His life.

My focus was on him knowing Jesus personally. The scripture that was brought to my mind  was the following...

"For whoever calls on the name
of the Lord shall be saved."
 Romans 10:13

So that is how I directed my prayers. That whoever meant whoever! I prayed that the Lord would draw him onto Jesus and that he would desperately call out to Him! And scripture says as we do that we shall be saved! I will continue to pray for this man as the Lord leads, expecting God to move in his heart. I know God put me there at that moment. There is no coincidences in God.

We have a God  that is not a respecter of persons and desires that  all men come to Him. That starts when we "call on the name of the Lord Jesus." There is no other name, other than Jesus,  that  can save us from our sins as we humbly call onto Him... and the results are forever spending our life with the Lord Almighty. And Eternity is a long, long time...

Calling on His Name,
