Thursday Writing......10/20/16

Good Morning,

We have rolled around to Thursday and a devotional written by Brother Thomas and Jody Ward, The title is "Desire of Nations." The theme is that God wants people to stop realize that He is God, and  He wants His people look at look at Him with a long and loving look at Him and recognize that he is our High God above everything. Jody wrote, "Come, let us stop and praise Him. Let us stop struggling and worship His Holiness. Let us be still and enter His presence where we will find true, lasting peace."

Today's Devotional

  Desire of Nations  

That’s enough! Desist what you are doing and know that I am God. Be still and understand that I am the One True God. Stand silent, step away from your struggles and strife and fighting. Let it just be, and recognize that I am supreme among the nations and supreme over the whole world. Stop where you are and take a long, loving look at Me, your High God above everything.

I will be exalted and honored by every nation in the world. I will be exalted and honored over all the earth. I will be praised in all countries and there will not be anywhere that does not praise My greatness.      

Psalm 46.10

God wants us to learn the secret of lasting peace. He does not want our lives to be day after day of struggle and fighting against all life throws at us. He wants us to know that there is nothing that gives peace more than to know that you stand in His presence.

Oceans may roar, the earth may quake with great trembling, the night may seem dark and lonely, but His promise remains.

“Do not fear or be afraid, for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. Be strong! Be fearless! Be courageous!

 He will not fail you or abandon you. He will not leave you or forsake you. He marches with you and won’t let you down. Jehovah,  the Lord your God, is with you”

Deuteronomy 31.6,8

He led Israel, His chosen ones, across the sea. He provided food and supply in the wilderness. He fought the army of the enemy to a standstill and overthrew Kings who rose up against His people.

So He is saying to us today, 

“I will be exalted and honored by every nation in the world. I will be exalted and honored over all the earth. I will be praised in all countries and there will be nowhere that does not praise My greatness.”

Come, let us stop and praise Him. Let us stop struggling and worship His Holiness. Let us be still and enter His presence where we will find true, lasting peace. (Name of graphic: "Desire of Nations"             Haggai 2:7)
