Good morning...
Today I had breakfast with my sister of a different mother, Jody. It was the final episode of an eight day celebration with family and friends. She left for Europe this afternoon for a two weeks to celebrate her 20th wedding anniversary. I am wishing them a great and safe trip as they go to Greece and Italy.
Have a way out (with God) Wednesday
The devotional that is part of the Wednesday Writings in Women's Focus Ministries was written by Sandy Billingham. The title of her writing is "Press Towards The Goal For The Prize!" She pointed out that people will have problems and sometimes may fall. As long as they keep on going they will reach where they want. Here is a quote from Sandy's writing, "We as His people will take many tumbles in our life, but the Lord is always by our side. He picks us back up, dusts us off and encourages us to get back in the race for the prize of the upward call."

Recently as I was walking in my neighborhood, I happened to glance over at my neighbor's driveway and saw a darling Baby Blue Jay. He was going in for a landing, but in the midst of it he ended up doing a somersault. He looked a bit dazed, but quickly got back up and continued to practice his flying. I have no doubt his mommy and daddy were very near, keeping a very close watch.
So no matter how many tumbles or somersaults you take in your journey with Christ, always get back up, keep flying and press in for the High Calling knowing your Heavenly Daddy is right there to keep you on course!!!

Monday Musings:
Let's be real, if you are breathing, you've experienced at least one season of significant struggle in your life. Whether it's relational, emotional, spiritual, financial, or physical the mere fact that you are living in an imperfect world means you have battled in one or more of these areas.
But today, as I read this one verse over and over again, I was reminded that " my present struggles are small and won't last very long". Welllll... Honestly they don't feel small. And, they certainly DO feel long!!!
Maybe you've been in a place where you could echo this sentiment. The truth is its all about PERSPECTIVE! There is ALWAYS someone whose troubles are greater than my own.

It was a precious moment to see that Baby Blue Jay, but it also reminded me of us as believers in our walk with Christ. How many times have we been going in for a landing on our life's journey and all of a sudden we take a big tumble. We sit there for a moment in a state of being dazed, as well, asking ourselves "what just happened?" Eventually, just like that Baby Blue Jay, we get back up and keep practicing our flying. We are well aware that our Heavenly Father is very near and will help us get back on track.
God's Word tells us in Philippians 3:14
"I press toward the goal for the prize
of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
We as His people will take many tumbles in our life, but the Lord is always by our side. He picks us back up, dusts us off and encourages us to get back in the race for the prize of the upward call.
So no matter how many tumbles or somersaults you take in your journey with Christ, always get back up, keep flying and press in for the High Calling knowing your Heavenly Daddy is right there to keep you on course!!!
Pressing In,
Sandy Billingham

Prophetic Statements and Texts
From the Bible
The Greatest Old Testament Prophecy of All
There are literally hundreds of other fulfilled prophecies that we could describe here, but clearly one stand head and shoulders above the rest, and we really need to take a minute to describe it. While the Jews were certainly comforted by prophecies that predicted that their enemies would eventually be destroyed, there was a far more comforting prophecy that had bee described in the Old Testament. It was a prophecy that predicted the coming of a Messiah, a savior who would deliver the Jews. While there we dozens of messianic prophecies in the Old Testament scriptures, one of these was incredibly specific in its claims. As we examine this prophecy, we can confirm the supernatural and divine inspiration of the Bible.
The Coming of the Messiah
In 538 B.C. Daniel wrote the following bold prediction:
Daniel 9:25
"So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks of years and sixty-two weeks of years"
In this prophecy, Daniel is claiming that there will be 69 weeks of years between the issuing of a decree to rebuild Jerusalem and the appearance of the Messiah. Now keep in mind that this bold prediction came 538 years before Christ was born.

And in light of eternity, this season of difficulty is just a blip in the landscape of my story. But, it's the second part of this verse that truly stirs the excitement in me. My troubles are doing more than just being a pain in my neck (literally)! These troubles are producing for me a glory that far outweighs the trouble itself! Hmmm... Soak that in! And that glory lasts forever!!! Remember the most beautiful of diamonds had to sustain the greatest of pressure and the most intense heat so that it could emanate strength and beauty. So today my sweet friends, I encourage you, wherever you are at on your life's journey, to Join me in embracing the struggles, allowing them to purify and refine you so that you can come out the other side stronger and more radiant than ever!
