Friday Writings...5/13/16

Good morning...
      Today was a good day for me. I was treated to lunch by my friends, Linda and Geri. I praise God for friends such as they are. He has blessed me with many precious friends.
Have a fantastic Friday even if it is Friday the 13th...LOL




The Friday devotional, "Persevering in Prayer," was written by Corinne Mustafa. It points out that persisting in prayer needs to be what we do. It brings us closer to God, and we must realize that God is not our genie who must answer any need that we think we have. Here is the a quote from the devotional, "So the next time you are stuck in the middle of what looks like unanswered prayer remember this...PRAY WITH PERSEVERANCE."

"Persevering in Prayer"

We often pray in earnest and believe that God is a genie under our control. Thereby we expect a reasonably quick answer to our prayers from God...God that we know loves us and plans to prosper us and not to harm us. So we wait. We become impatient, and we give up on praying when it seems that our prayer will never be answered.  We are disappointed and maybe more than that; we are heartbroken and decide that it is no use to keep praying. We miss the fact that the answer could be just around the corner or just a few miles down the road. There may be a reason for the delay. Maybe blessings will come that are very unexpected. The one side gift is that when you spend time in prayer you develop a closer relationship than you have had with God in the past. I am sure anyone would take that in a heart beat. 

Here are some thoughts I have had that I write in the first person....I

• When I pray I must not want an immediate answer.
• I must be willing to wait for Your good will to answer me.
• I need to remember that if I get a "no" You must have something better in mind for me.
• If I get a "no" I must REALIZE that it might not be a permanent "no."
• If I get a "no" I must accept it for then and keep on praying knowing that grace from You is the by-product.

 ......we know that suffering produces perseverance;  perseverance, character; and character, hope.
Romans 5: 3b-4

So the next time you are stuck in the middle of what looks like unanswered prayer remember this...PRAY WITH PERSEVERANCE.

This is an amazing statement. It cannot be found anywhere in the writings of mortal man. found. These are supernatural claims, and they cannot apply to anyone but God Himself. He is declaring Himself to be the self-existent, eternal, sovereign, uncreated One, “declaring the end from the beginning.”

Please read this two or three times to really get 

what God is saying in this prophetic passage of Scripture.

I hope you see in yourself the One Who created you. And all of the promise He's placed inside of you. I pray you have the courage to let Him shape you. Into all He's created you to be. So that His image will shine through the reflection you leave behind. And cause others to find Him too.
