Women's Focus Ministries

We are a group of Christian women (and one man) who write daily devotionals and other articles of interest to women.
We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,
Corinne Mustafa.......and the Writing Staff of "WFM"

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Thursday Writing by Brother Thomas and Jody Ward......5/4/17

Good morning,

We all wish to walk in and with the Spirit. Sometimes a lesson or a refresher course is what is needed for us to be effective. Brother Thomas and Jody Ward have provided just that in the writing for today. I believe that you will find "Walk In The Spirit" exciting and informative. Here is a quotes from their writing: "Live freely, animated and motiva- ted by God’s Spirit.......Walking in the Spirit means to seek, and become conscious of, His presence in everything you do and in everywhere you go. To walk in the Spirit is to consult God, and listen for His answers before you act."

A good start would be to develop a habit of checking in with the Spirit daily before you move forward. How about starting tomorrow (Thursday)?

God bless,
Brother Thomas, Jody, and Corinne

Today's  Devotional
"Walk In The Spirit"

Here are my instructions. Walk habitually in the Holy Spirit. If you are guided by the Spirit, and let Him direct your lives, you won’t obey your selfish desires. Yes, I advise you to obey the instructions of the Holy Spirit so you won’t be preoccupied with satisfying your base human nature. Be responsive to His guidance and He will tell you where to go and what to do. Then you won’t always be doing wrong things and caving into the desires of your sinful nature.
You need to listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit because our earthly desires will respond impulsively without regard for God.
For the Spirit and your desires are enemies of each other. What our human nature wants is opposed to what the Spirit wants, and what the Spirit wants is opposed to what our human nature wants.
You see, these two – your sinful nature and the Spirit of God – are in direct opposition to each other. They are continually in conflict, always fighting and keeping you from doing what you feel you should or whatever good things you want to do. These two forces within you are constantly fighting each other to win control over you and you are never free from their pressure.
So, here is the answer I give: Walk in the Spirit and let the Spirit bring order to your life.

Live freely, animated and
motivated by God’s Spirit
.

Choose to be led by the Spirit and escape the erratic compulsions of a rule-dominated existence. If you live this way, you will not give in to your selfish and sinful cravings.

Galatians 5.16-18

What does it mean to walk in the Spirit
and how do we do it?

To walk in the Spirit means to allow the principles of God's word to guide your decisions, along with all the steps needed to implement them.
Walking in the Spirit means to seek, and become conscious of, His presence in everything you do and in everywhere you go. To walk in the Spirit is to consult God, and listen for His answers before you act.

Walking in the Spirit is not complicated, but it can be difficult. Living to please Him daily and acting according to His direction is challenging, yet it is the most rewarding way to live.
Today, listen to the voice of the Spirit inside you and act according to how the He guides you. If we live this way, we will experience the true meaning of Pentecost every day.
Wow! What a wonderful way to make the Lord's prayer "let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" a reality in our daily Christian walk.

Here is an uplifting Prayer
for you to think about and say.

It was said by a man who says this prayer every morning
to invite the Spirit to come in and be his teacher,

mentor, and protection to be able to keep himself
"Walking in the Spirit" all day.
He prays it for his family and others as well.

Prayers are lifted up daily for
you by the Devotional Writers
and the Monthly Writing Staff
of Women's Focus Ministries.
