Good Morning,
Today's writing is called "Itchy Ears," and it was written by Karen Bennett. Her topic is the fact that in this world "itchy ears" that search for teachings that from false teachers to follow and satisfy their desire for immoral interests and activities. Karen quoted scripture that said in effect that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Karen wrote, "It is what we rely on and why we can trust everything that Jesus ever said. He is not some wishy-washy character who changes His mind on a whim. No, He IS perfect! He IS unchanging! He IS truth! He IS Lord of all."
God bless,
Karen and Corinne

"Itchy Ears"
"Itchy Ears"
As we look around our world today, we see the tremendous decline in morality. The shift is taking people farther from God than ever imagined despite the fact that Scripture has always contained this prophesy
.
We shake our heads in disbelief as we watch the news on television or read the headlines in the newspaper.
People are drifting farther from God, and others have adopted a new kind of preacher - another Biblical warning.
"For a time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them
a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."
2 Timothy 4:3-4.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them
a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."
2 Timothy 4:3-4.
There are multitudes of "itchy ears" all over the globe and many false teachers seeking to appeal to them. Scripture is being deliberately misinterpreted to comply with the desires of the population. They feel they can dissect Scripture, alter it, and place it before the people, providing them license to behave in whatever manner suits them.
There are those who embrace only the portions of the Bible that appeal to them and those who have turned away completely for one imaginary reason or another. There are those who refuse to believe in a power higher than themselves, therefore refusing to answer to anyone for their behavior, and assuming full control of their lives. Could it be they aren't in control after all? Could it be they've fallen prey to the evil one who encourages them to do whatever makes them happy?
It's time for all of us to pray without ceasing and to share our faith with everyone we can, whether old friends or new acquaintances. We know God's will does not change and that,
"Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday and today and forever."
Hebrews 13:8
Hebrews 13:8
It is what we rely on and why we can trust everything that Jesus ever said. He is not some wishy-washy character who changes His mind on a whim. No, He IS perfect! He IS unchanging! He IS truth! He IS Lord of all.
Dear Jesus, Give us the love and determination to share You with the people we meet as well as with those we already know. Let us do our part in Your plan, that we may honor You and give You the glory. May we find kind and receptive hearts and may they be lead back to You by the power of Your Holy Spirit! In Your perfect name we pray! Amen.
