Friday Writings......6/24/16

Good morning...

Today I met a new friend. I happen to know her daughter in law and she found out that I live in the same town as her mother in law lives. She kind of hooked us up, and I met her for tea this morning. We just talked and talked for two hours as we got to know each other.  I look forward to seeing her the next time.

The Devotional component in the Friday Writings of Women's Focus Ministries is titled, "Away From Me!" and was written by Corinne Mustafa. She discusses the ways God speaks to us and then wrote about a dream that her friend had. Corinne wrote, "The enemy has gains and causes God's people pain, but he cannot possibly win. Jesus took care of that 2000+ years ago. This is something that need intercessory prayer, and the need is now. There is evil that seems to be overcoming this world, but there is good news. Even when things seem to be getting worse, the battle has already been won. Prayer Warriors...PRAY daily!"

"Away From Me!"

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan!
For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, 

and serve him only.’”

Be alert and of sober mind. 

Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion 

looking for someone to devour.

1 Peter 5:8

We all know that God speaks to us in different ways. Some actually hear Him audibly. One person I know only heard an audible word one time. She heard a controlled but urgent directive to stop. She did and a speeding car came around a curve in the road. If she had pulled out into the street she would have been in a serious accident. There are so many ways that God communicates...His Word, something that a friend might say to us, a song on the radio, a Sunday message...the list goes on and on. The way I am going to write about is dreams. Many dreams have meaning that we never figure out...bizarre scrambled confusing nonsense (to us) that makes us scratch our heads and quickly forget. God also communicates in dreams. We wake up and we know that is what the dream is. We can even figure out the meaning of what He is showing us. A friend of mine had a such a dream recently. Here is what she wrote about her dream. 

"I don't normally do this, but I feel like I need to. I dream a lot, but sometimes God gives me visions. I can tell the difference between the two, a dream and a vision. Two nights ago, I saw the sky open up in the shape of a square. In this square I saw a figure. At first I thought it was Jesus. All of a sudden, I saw angels pouring out of this square hole in the sky. There were thousands of them. They were gray in color, which I thought were just shadows at first. However, God allowed me to see one of these "angels". It was not an angel, but a demon. The figure I saw in the square hole was not Jesus, but Satan. God showed me that Satan is pouring out thousands of demons on the Earth at this moment. Too many to count. This is why we are seeing so much evil on the earth. This is why families are falling apart, so much drugs and violence, etc. People we know and love are acting like they are strangers, enemies. Satan is known as the father of lies and the prince of the power of air. He knows his time is short. So, he is turning up the heat. Some of my friends may not believe this. I will pray for you. I hope you consider what I have written because things are going to get worse before they get better. Be prepared. We need to pray like we've never prayed before. What I saw was very real."

The enemy knows that his days are numbered and he is at full swing trying to destroy people and to destroy the world as we know it. We know he is going to fail. He has basically been failing throughout history. He has gains and causes God's people pain but he cannot possibly win, Jesus took care of that 2000+ years ago. This is something that needs intercessory prayer, and the need is now. There is evil that seems to be overcoming this world, but there is good news. Even when things seem to be getting worse, the battle has already been won.

God I need you,
In every area of my life.

Come soften my heart to love and forgive those around me.
Come inspire my work to always find a creative solution and to work with passion.
Come protect my thoughts and change the way I think from worry to hope.
Come restore my self-worth, when I am low come remind me of who I am and set me free.
Come direct my life, guide me through each situation and lead me back when I get lost.

God I need you,
In every area of my life.
Soften me, inspire me, protect me, rest me, and direct me each day.
