Good Morning,
The theme for today is the need that people have for comfort. To define comfort one might say that this is the thing that helps us to deal with challenges, sadness and loss. There are great sources of comfort. We could agree that God is an important source. However, God has given us written words of comfort in the Psalms in the Bible. Carol wrote, "There are Psalms for everything you need. God holds out comfort no matter what you need, written there in His Word by people just like you and me who found the answer in God. "
Have a blessed weelend.

Every one of us has
needed comfort at some time in our lives. It could be from some major
event or something of less magnitude but nevertheless important to us.
Sometimes we even get an immediate degree of comfort from a parent, spouse,
friend, or someone who will listen and understand.
However, when
something is really devastating for us and we have no earthly person to turn
to, we must find comfort elsewhere. Then we may be willing to turn to
God. God is the One who holds out true and lasting comfort to us when the
world falls apart and fails us. How do we find this comfort? One of
my favorite places is the book of Psalms in the Bible.
There are 150
Psalms which speak to any mood or need a person may have. Sometimes we
need the comfort of returning to God after we know we have sinned, when we
can't seem to find our way and need direction from being lost, or when we need
healing. There are Psalms for everything you need. God holds out
comfort no matter what you need, written there in His Word by people just like
you and me who found the answer in God. "Comfort my people."
