Good morning,
Today's writing is shared
by Cathy Friberg who writes at the beginning of every month. The writing
is called, "Come Fly With Me" which discusses how people figuratively fly with Jesus remain safe and filled with blessings
Cathy wrote, "May we invite those who don't yet have a relationship with God, to share His peace and joy. Let us lead others to our Beautiful Prince of Peace, who raises us to heights of glory with Him. This is a great time as we are two months into the new year of 2019 to plan out the year and set some goals of what we are going to do to have a good affect on the lives of others."

That was my experience the other morning. However, after my
devotional time,
which includes music, Bible reading and prayer, God's
wonderful peace began
to flood my soul. I was able to rise above the
harassment of the enemy as I
realized and felt the reality of my position in
Christ. The Word says,
"And God raised us up with Christ and seated
us
with him in the heavenly realms
in Christ Jesus."
Ephesians 2:6
We truly
are above our earthly dilemmas. We rule and reign with Jesus far
above all principalities and powers.
The last airplane flight I took, the weather on the
ground was less than perfect. The stewardess
announced that we were going to take off anyway.
The sky was quite cloudy, gray, and full of wind.
As we flew, the turbulence was making everyone
ill at ease. However, we had a competent pilot who
began to take us above the bad weather. We climbed
higher and higher in the stratosphere. Remarkably
the sky became blue and the sun shone through!
The air was calm. I thought of how, if we allow Him
to, the pilot of our souls will take us high above our
negative circumstances and their accompanying
troubling thoughts and feelings. "Come fly with me,"
Jesus beckons. "Allow me to transport your soul

to new levels of peace and joy.
"Thou
wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind
is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
Isaiah 26:3
We do need to be willing to forsake the indulgence of our self
pity, murmuring
and complaining. We must be willing to embrace God's peace and
comfort. We
can say "enough" to the turbulence of our souls.
That is the time to seek God's
presence. We can turn to the Word, praying in
the Spirit, and worship. Like Jesus
being tempted in the wilderness, we can
quote scripture anytime a negative
thought tries to invade our minds.
"Submit
yourselves, then, to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
James 4:7
I think of the times before I came to know the Lord. I could be
distressed by
circumstances for days and work myself into a tizzy. Many times I
would make
very unwise decisions based on my feelings.
very unwise decisions based on my feelings.
"Do not
fret—it only causes harm."
Psalm
37:8
Now, I thank God always for His Holy
Spirit. He urges us to pray and wait on
Him for answers which may seem very
contrary to earthly wisdom. I still have
much to practice and learn in regards to
walking with Jesus. However, I am
grateful for open access to growing in
Him.
May we invite those who don't yet have a relationship with God, to share His
peace and joy. Let us lead others to our Beautiful Prince of Peace, who raises us
to heights of glory with Him.
