Tuesday Writing...2/4/20..."Goodbye To Loneliness"

Good Morning,

The topic for today is the hardship and hurt of loneliness that can be found in people who may be suffering from prejudice or lack of understanding. Sandy wrote about the solution for loneliness, "Our God stays true to His promises, and, as we lean into to our God and cry out for His help in our times of loneliness, He shall grant that to us."

Always talk to our permanent Helper whenever your loneliness is a problem.

Today's Devotional
"Goodbye To Loneliness"

I was recently listening to an old interview on Candace Bergman. She made a comment that stuck in my mind. She was particularly sharing about a new movie she was in that had just been released. She referred to herself and others in the cast, zeroing in on specifically the lonely lives they were portraying in the movie. Then she commented that,
"Every person has a piece of loneliness
somewhere in the corner of their life."

I have chewed on that comment that Candace made for a few days. I have come to the conclusion according to my perspective that she is right to a certain degree. We all have experienced lonely times at different levels and stages.

Some times the loneliness stays longer in some more than others, and of course life is like a pendulum which can swing from one extreme to another.

But the bottom line is, that if we are believers, we can pursue the Living God asking for more of Him. As we do that, He consumes us with His all consuming love and can melt away the loneliness that exists.

His Word is very candid about being with us and among us.
"And the Lord,
He is the One who goes before you.
He will be with you, He will not leave you
nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed."
Deuteronomy 31:8
He is not only with us at all times but the Lord also goes before us. Then He proceeds to tell us that He will be with us, never leaving our side and never forsaking us His Children. And at the end of that verse He exhorts us to not be fearful or dismayed in any way. Also, if you read Verse 6 in that same chapter, He also encourages us to "Be strong and of good courage and repeats similar words as in Verse 8.

The reason we can be strong and of good courage and not fear or be dismayed is because our Heavenly Father is living within us He promises that He will always be there for us.  Our God stays true to His promises, and, as we lean into to our God and cry out for His help in our times of loneliness, He shall grant that to us.

Will lonely times continue to come? Yes, I am sure they will.  The good news is, that we know our God can exchange our loneliness for more of His presence and intimacy and fullness. We can be fully confident that our God shall deliver His promises, for they are tried and true. I am thankful that He will take my loneliness and exchange it for a greater outpouring of Him! There is no better place to be than to be soaking in His Glorious Presence all our days!
