We are a group of Christian women (and one man) who write daily devotionals and other articles of interest to women.
We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,
Corinne Mustafa.......and the Writing Staff of "WFM"

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Wednesday Writing...1/29/20..."Handle First Things First"

Good Morning,

Today we are looking at the importance of performing first things. This is an organizational way to perform things that is modeled by God Himself. Here is a quote from this writing, "What do we do when we meet someone or when we open the front door to a guest? We greet them. The same goes to greeting God in the morning. This can take the form of a prayer, words of thanks for the the beauty of the rising morning sun, or sharing your thoughts with Him."

This is a good habit to perfect.

God bless you,
Corinne Mustafa

Today's Devotional
"Handle First Things First"

The book of Haggai has two chapters where the Lord talks about the way the repairing the ruins of the city  must be organized according to the progress where one thing happens and then there is a natural follow up and planned progression. When the people decided to obey the Lord, He made this promise to them.

We need to think this way. What do you do first thing in the morning? OK...OK first thing after the call of nature. What do we do when we meet someone or when we open the front door to a guest? We greet them. The same goes to greeting God in the morning. This can take the form of a prayer, words of thanks for the the beauty of the rising morning sun, or sharing your thoughts with Him.

This way of doing things can be seen in the way God performed the days of Creation.  It was a true work of "first things first." You can easily see there was a reasonable progression of setting up a place where man could dwell, and then he created man. He worked until He was done, and then he set a day of rest because so that he could rest. That only happened when He finished paying attention to the work he set out to do. We need to think about having that kind of organization in our lives. Still life interferes with out resolve.

So on the seventh day, having finished his task,
God ceased from this work he had been doing,
and God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy,
because it was the day when he ceased this work of creation.
Genesis 2:2-3

If you are like many people resolve fails when you jump out of bed and grab a cup of coffee while formulating your to do lists either in your mind or on paper. In this scenario God does not come first, perhaps we do not get to Him until lunch break or later.

This continues throughout the day as we are inundated by the chores we need to do. We get home, and there are more things to do that are added to our  responsibilities. An so it goes, and it is a sad possibility that, after a not so long time, we only rarely even think of God at all. At the end of the day we have the energy of  a sloth.

I pray that you take this seriously and not get lost in this pitfall!
