We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,
Corinne Mustafa.......and the Writing Staff of "WFM"

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Thursday Writing...12/19/19..."TRADITIONS / REASON / TRADITIONS"

Today's Devotional
"TRADITIONS / REASON / TRADITIONS" (Part 1)
Written by
Corinne Mustafa

A Tradition is something that persons practice
as a way of life that always has been their customs
and way of doing things at any given time in their lives.

A Reason is the wisdom

that a person accepts and uses
 to create behavior

The season of Christmas is a perfect time, a time when the juxtaposition of the the words "tradition and reason" together in thought and behavior. have become a way of life.

So we will start at the top consideration of all.
The birth and life of Jesus gave people who accepted Him the righteousness which opened heaven as our eternal home with him. The celebration we have  of exchanging presents was first done following the gifts of the Magi that brought Jesus Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. However this tradition works a bit backwards from the original happening.

Most homes have a tree. In my house the tree was filled with blue lights and angel hair as a thank you to Mary for being obedient to God. My dad also cut off the lowest branches so that Mommy's manger could be set below the tree. I was very happy when we got a tree where the manger could be placed  below it. Jesus is actually the "JOY" that is in the manger under the tree.

I have memories of a tradition of presents when I was a child. The pile was often a mound that reached up to my waist. Now, my parents were far from wealthy. However a growing child needs new undies, socks, sweatshirts, toothbrushes and toothpaste. My mother would open the bags that things came in and wrapped each item separately. Of course there was a new box of crayons and a coloring book and new Bobsey Twins book. My stocking was filled with fruit and nuts, pennies, and small tootsie rolls. It sounds like a lot, and it was. However, it was simple...not fancy, and I loved it.

To be continued tomorrow...
