Friday Writing...12/13/19..."THE CHRISTMAS GIFT"

Good Morning,

We receive many gifts at Christmas, but we are intellectually missing the boat if we think the gifts that are what is important. The major gift is from Jesus. Karen wrote, "Through the gift of Jesus, we’ve received total forgiveness and eternal life in Heaven."

This is the statement of the most important gift mankind has ever received...let us be filled with holy gratitude.

Blessings from

"THE CHRISTMAS GIFT"

Written by
Karen Bennett

Christmas gift giving began, of course, on the first Christmas, when God gifted all of mankind with His beloved only Son, Jesus. And what a gift He was, the best ever, and still is, of course!

People talk about some items as: “The gift that keeps on giving.” That expression would be best used in describing the gift of Christ.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.”
James 1:17.

Through the gift of Jesus,
we’ve received total forgiveness and eternal life in Heaven.

After His resurrection, Christ told us of another coming gift, that of the Comforter, the great Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit to us is faith, and we all know it’s our faith that keeps us going. With faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus instilled in us, we know we can look to God for everything. We trust Him for it all. The gifts, or blessings, come each and every day, beginning with the day itself, because each day is a gift and we are to rejoice in it.

With each day the blessings of joy, peace, trust, comfort, strength, faith, courage and more, continue to grow. All we need is to believe. If we believe, we will live our faith and in doing that, we know the true importance of as many people as possible knowing about Christ!

Starting to spread the “Good News” of the Gospel to and for mankind is perfect at the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child. Share the spiritual gifts you’ve been given by the Holy Spirit, that others may know why we cling so tightly to our Lord.  Tell them what it all means to you and the complete joy received with the knowledge of what Christ did for us and what lies ahead for us because of it.

Encourage everyone you can to attend Christmas services to learn of the night sky filled with angels singing praises to our newborn King and announcing His birth. Let them know what deep, godly love covers us and what we receive from it, when we hear of the the little babe in a manger, born in a stable with animals.

“Follow the way of love
and eagerly desire spiritual gifts.”
1 Corinthians 14-1a

Loving Father, with joy-filled hearts, we thank and praise You for the tremendous love You surround us with. You sent Your Son to reconcile us to You and we celebrate His birth with great love . Let us extend that love to others with determination to share Your “good news” with people all over, that they may come to the manger with us! In Jesus ‘ most holy name. Amen!
