Good morning,
Today's writing is shared
by Cathy Friberg who writes at the beginning of every month. The writing
is called, "THE CHRISTMAS WALTZ" which discusses how people can
find ways to show love to each other and use the time to reach out to people who wonder what makes the reason for the joy that they have.
Cathy wrote, "And may we remember too, to extend our hearts and hands to the redeemed and to the unredeemed who find themselves lonely, isolated and hurting during this season."
This is a great time as we are in the last month of 2019 to enter 2020 with hopes of making a difference.

Well, now I'm going to really date myself. There is a delightful
song written and first performed in the 1950'S, called "The Christmas
Waltz." Pop singers like Andy Williams and later on even The Carpenters
enchanted listeners every December with this song's captivating melody and
charming lyrics. The second stanza reads,
Every song you hear
seems to say
seems to say
Merry Christmas May your New Year dreams come true"
From "The Christmas Waltz" by Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne)
And how true…… It is the time of year when the world falls in love. While the
song may be referring to romantic love, I think its safe to say
that the Christmas season also elicits "brotherly, charitable, familial
and Divine love and kindness in the hearts of most people. Christmas lights and
decor, which many might consider worldly, still seem to soften peoples
sentiments. Joyful social gatherings, touching musical and theatrical events,
long overdue correspondence with far away friends, and the reuniting of
families make hearts more open to receiving the gospel message.
Let us take advantage of this special opportunity to be a
witness for our Lord and Savior. Let's ask our Heavenly Father to show us
creative ways to ways to present the Good News to our unsaved loved ones,
friends, co-workers and neighbors. You will be delighted at the ingenious
methods our precious Holy Spirit will give you to help you speak forth the Word
of Life.
As we seek the face of God each day through mediation on
the scriptures, worship and prayer we will be prepared to share our faith
whenever and whenever the Lord opens that door.
Always be prepared to give
an answer to everyone who asks
you to give the reason
for the hope you have.
an answer to everyone who asks
you to give the reason
for the hope you have.
But do this with
gentleness
and respect."

And may we remember too, to extend our hearts and hands to the
redeemed and to the unredeemed who find themselves lonely, isolated and hurting
during this season. Visits, phone calls, and holiday cookies all say, "I love
you, and you are not forgotten."
and as we follow His
lead our "Christmas Waltz"
will touch souls with a new revelation of His Divine love.

May we always live our lives
at Christmas and all year long
at Christmas and all year long
as a loving song and dance to Jesus
