We are a group of Christian women (and one man) who write daily devotionals and other articles of interest to women.
We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,
Corinne Mustafa.......and the Writing Staff of "WFM"

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Wednesday Writing...11/27/19...

Good Morning,

With the celebrations that are coming up in the next 30 days it seemed to be a good time to write about traditions. Here is a quote from this writing, "It is our responsibility to hang onto the traditions and teachings of God so there will be Biblical voices can be heard and have a healthy influence."

Wishing you joy as  you celebrate the Biblical traditions of the upcoming season.

God bless,
Corinne Mustafa

Today's Devotional
"Traditions"
Written by

So then brethren, stand fast and hold onto the traditions
you were taught
whether
by word, or
by epistle of ours.

2 Thessalonians 2:15

Throughout history parents passed on the customs and ways of the civilization of where they live and follow to the younger generation. In the beginning it was by word of mouth. It was not until the last 1000 years that records might be written down. As times go by traditions evolve. The evolution happened very slowly over time. However, the customs contained  the seed of what had gone before.  Historians have shown us how things have changed over time as people advanced in education and sophistication.

As a child I was fully aware of the "right" things that were to be done. It was part of our education and reaching adulthood. Things were to be done, celebrated, and followed as our parents had showed us. In time,. we thought we knew better than our parents and the traditions changed...but not completely.

We were still clinging to the remnant of what we had been taught. What got me started on this thought is we are in the season of Thanksgiving and Christmas. A lot of what I thought would never change is changing. Traditions are changing.

As a senior citizen, I find that changes have become faster than a runaway train. Now, it is my turn to go into the future. This is not all a problem. The main thing is that people who seem to hold the power to bring on the changes they think about and want. People follow them blindly. It is our responsibility to hang onto the traditions and teachings of God so there will be Biblical voices can be heard and have a healthy influence.

Heavenly Father,
We thank you that your word teaches and leads us to know how to hang onto the truth. Help us to have courage to be a voice calling out in the wilderness ready to educate others the truths you have told us is Your tradition. Amen
