Good Morning,

This writing discusses what kind of beauty on the outside and on the inside is the beauty God values. Following this it is necessary to take quiet time with the Lord sharing your thoughts with Him and listening to His voice. Carol wrote, "We can't lead full lives and experience the abundance of God's gifts to us if we don't take time out daily for quietness and reflections. Otherwise, we will just be caught up in the flowing stream of daily busyness which will drown out the still small voice of our Creator."

We should build our beauty from the inside without fancy adornments, and also we need to find time to be alone with the Lord sharing out thoughts and listening to his voice.

Today's Devotional

"IN QUIETNESS AND REFLECTION"

"Instead, it should be that of your inner self,
the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is of great worth in God's sight."

I Peter 3:4

In this passage, Peter was pointing out inner beauty versus outward clothing and jewelry for show. I Think we can take this a step further, however, to look at what a quiet spirit means. I'm not sure many of us know how to truly sit and be quiet for any amount of time.

We lead busy lives and even when we sit or lie down to sleep, often our minds are racing with continual planning or reviewing the days events. We need solitude every day -- a time when we can open the Word of God and listen to the Holy Spirit within us. We need to be able to listen to the Spirit rather than the world or our own thought.

We need to share our dreams and aspirations with God and listen to what He has put into our hearts to call us to fulfill. We can't lead full lives and experience the abundance of God's gifts to us if we don't take time out daily for quietness and reflections. Otherwise, we will just be caught up in the flowing stream of daily busyness which will drown out the still small voice of our Creator.
