Saturday Writing...5/11/19..."LIVING WATER"

Good Morning,

The writing for today speaks about the importance of water. It is needed to keep living things like plants, animals and people alive and healthy. This is on the natural level. In addition people need spiritual sustenance from "living water" which is found in reading the Word or in prayer. In addition we need to share  it with others in order that they will also be refreshed. Carol wrote, " Refreshing ourselves daily with the Word of God must be as important and necessary to us as drinking water to sustain our bodies."  

Keep a scheduled habit that will provide the refreshment of living water.

"LIVING WATER"

"Whoever believes in me, 

as the Scripture has said, 

streams of living water will flow 

from within Him." 

John 7:38

Where I live in Arizona is called the Sonoran Desert.  When I first moved here I was actually surprised how green it is.  All of the cacti have wonderful blossoms and there is some greenery in the trees and grasses.  The necessary component, as anywhere, is water.  We get very little rain but nothing can survive without at least some water.  

As Christians, we can't produce any living water unless we first immerse ourselves in water -- the living water of Scripture. Coming in from a hot day, I look forward to quenching my thirst with a nice cold glass of refreshing water. As the desert thirsts for rain, so we must thirst for the Word of God in our lives.  

In order to believe in and know the promises of God we must know what the Word says to us. Refreshing ourselves daily with the Word of God must be as important and necessary to us as drinking water to sustain our bodies.  

When we are refreshed by God, we can in turn go out and refresh others with the life giving Word of God both in words and deeds.  Is your life only a trickle of what it should be or are you a stream of living water to all whom you meet?
