Saturday Writing...4/27/19..."CHILD-LIKE NOT CHILDISH"

Good Morning,

The writing for today shows that people must retain the childlike innocence that Jesus appreciated. CHILDLIKE is the key word it does not have childishness as a part of it. Carol wrote, "We are to receive the Lord and His kingdom with faith and trust and openness, just like a little child."

It would be advisable to attempt going through life with innocence and without gile.

Have a blessed weekend,
Carol Steficek

Today's Devotional

"CHILD-LIKE NOT CHILDISH"
Written by
Carol Steficek

"But Jesus called the children to Him and said,
'Let the little children come to Me,
and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of God belongs
to such as these."
Luke 18:16

What lesson was Jesus trying to teach us with this statement?  It really is radical.  How is becoming like a child a sign of Christian maturity?  Jesus did not mean that we are to be childish, staying immature in our Christian walk with Him.

Rather, we are to receive Him as a child does their parents.  Children see their parents as knowledgeable and are ready to learn what the parent teaches them.  Children are open to new ideas, in fact, most children soak up ideas like a sponge. Children trust their parents and are eager to take their hands when venturing into unknown and new territory.

They feel safe with them. All these relationships children have with  their parents are signs of spiritual maturity in a Christian relating to the Lord.

We are to receive the Lord and His kingdom with
faith and trust and openness, just like a little child.

to Come unto Me"

People need to be like a child as they mature.
They must remain mature
and not revert to being childish.
