Good morning,
Today's writing is shared by Cathy Friberg who writes at the beginning of
every month. The writing is called, "HIS MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING"
which discusses how God shows His mercies for us despite our mistakes and poor choices. When we do that, we become more effective in life as we live
it throughout the day.
Cathy wrote, "That is why it is important to study the Bible and to ask God often
to teach us His ways and lead us in His paths. We can go from glory to glory and be transformed into His image as we discover more about the true nature and character of God."
This is a great time to work on adopting God's mercies and learning how to best benefit from them.

This is the writing for May...
"HIS MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING" Written by Cathy Friberg Psalm 103:10 tells us that God "does not punish us for all our sins; He does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve." (NLT) In the NIV version it reads: "He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities." Of course, by the atonement of the shed blood of Jesus we are saved from the
ultimate consequence of our sins. We become the righteousness of
God and can
spend eternity in heaven
with Him.
consequences for our actions. Those who have committed crimes
and turn in
repentance to the Lord usually must still pay their debt to
society. New
Christians who have experienced years of substance abuse may
continue to
have issues with their minds and bodies. They must deal with the
pain they
have caused themselves and others. There are repercussions, but
God’s
mercy somehow spares us from their full impact. It is almost
miraculous
how God can and does save us from the complete effects of
our wrongdoings.
When we turn to God, obey His Holy Spirit and give every
situation over
to the Lord, He restores our lives. He turns circumstances
around and
gives us favor we could only dream of. Loved ones will forgive
us and we
will be shown opportunities which could only come from the hand
of God.
"It is of the Lord's mercies
that we are not consumed,
because His
They are new every morning."
Lamentations 3:22-23
(KJV)
In my own life I can see how the Lord has graciously spared me
from the
consequences that I have deserved due to sins that I
have committed. I am
so grateful for His mercy and want to extend that grace to
others.
and ethical blind spots. People do go astray and take wrong
paths because they
simply don't know better. Either because of bad example, lack of
proper training
or even misunderstanding, both believers and unbelievers commit
sin. That is
why it is important to study the Bible and to ask God often to
teach us His ways
and lead us in His paths. We can go from glory to glory and be
transformed
into His image as we discover more about the true nature and
character of God.
As we learn to know Him and emulate Him we will leave behind us
a trail of
blessing for humanity.
We can pray like Jabez... “Oh, that you would bless me
and expand my territory!
Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from
all trouble and pain!”
Chronicles 4:9-10 (NLT) Father, in Heaven, let us seek your face continually and internalize your Holy Word that we might experience victory and avoid regrets.
