The theme for today is that the God we serve is not just Huge; He is bigger than anything we can imagine or wrap our minds around. Here is a quote from this writing, "We develop an awareness of how tiny we really are and how we depend on something or someone much bigger that we are...God. We cry out to God in our need...Trust in God that He will be our strength in life as we float in our very small boats."
Hoping you had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday, a day that really illustrates the massive size and capabilities of God.

"Huge and Tiny"

"Oh God, Thy sea is so great
and my boat is so small."
In my bathroom I have a sea theme. I love the ocean, and it pleases me to see things that remind me of the ocean. One of the things I have there is a small metal fold over with the inscription below the graphic. When we think about it the things on our earth and in universe range in size from tiny...even microscopic...to so huge it boggles the imagination. For this writing I will confine us to earth and later to heaven.
We think we are big and important, and that is not far from the truth. To our children we are the world. There are others to whom we are "big" and important. This would depend on our life's work and who is touched by it. On the other hand we all have people in our lives who are "big" to us as who they are and what they do touch our lives.
There are things without which we would not be able to get along. These include machines in our laundry room, our car, and...(you can fill in your own blanks here.) For a person like me who loves the ocean and likes to sail a boat would be desirable. However, the ocean is quite volatile and stormy, raising huge waves that are dangerous. It is when a squall comes up that we cry out to the Lord. "Oh God, Thy sea is so great and my boat is so small." We develop an awareness of how tiny we really are and how we depend on something or someone much bigger that we are...God. We cry out to God in our need...
You are my strength,
I sing praise to You;
You, God, are my fortress,
my God on whom I can rely.
Psalm 59:17
Now let us discover words that can describe the size of God. There are many, but they pale by comparison to the size of God. Here are some of those words..."large, gigantic, immense, vast, great, gigantic, huge, enormous, whopping, extensive, great, broad, massive, tall, lofty, towering, soaring, substantial, sizable, significant, important, and capacious"
This Scripture says it all...
You are my strength,
I sing praise to You;
You, God, are my fortress,
my God on whom I can rely.

If you’re a hard worker and do a good job, you deserve your pay; we don’t call your wages a gift. But if you see that the job is too big for you, that it’s something only God can do, and you trust Him to do it—you could never do it for yourself no matter how hard and long you worked—well, that trusting-Him-to-do-it is what gets you set right with God, by God. Sheer gift .
Romans 4:4-5
(The Message)
Trust in God that He will be our strength in life
as we float in our very small boats.
