Tuesday's Writing...3/26/19..."Always Be Sober And Vigilant...."

Good Morning,

Today the theme of the writing is the need for vigilance to keep the enemy, the roaring lion, at bay. In this need to overcome evil the Lord God provided gifts and guidance that gives His people victory. Sandy Billingham, the author wrote, "When the enemy comes knocking at our doors, we must be prepared, equipped and bold! As a believer, we have the authority to command the enemy to flee, but we must be ready. As we do our part as believers, the Lord will certainly do His as well."

Today's Devotional 

"Always Be Sober And Vigilant...."

Scripture tells us...  

"Be sober, be vigilant; 

because your adversary the devil 

walks about like a roaring lion, 

seeking whom he may devour."

1 Peter 5:8,

That is a passage that we as believers should take heed of every day, or should I say every moment of our life. The devil hates any follower of Jesus, and he will do anything to detour your walk with Jesus. 

Let's take a little bit closer look at just exactly what this scripture is telling us. We, as God's people, can never be passive or slothful on how we live our life each passing day. The devil despises us and is not happy we are serving God Almighty! We must stay in close relationship with our Lord and in tune to what is going on all around us from morning until night and in-between. We must stay strong in God's Word and keep our heads lifted onto Him.

The devil is literally ready at any opportunity to wipe our lives out. The word devour means to consume or destroy. He wants you off this planet and into his clutches. Not only your life but your family as well. We must be seeking our God and praying fervently and continuously. As the Holy Spirit reveals certain scriptures to us, we must declare those over our life and our loved ones.

The deeper you go with God, influencing and impacting those around you with Christ, the fiercer the battle can become. That is why it says to be sober and vigilant or another definition would be to be watchful and alert.

When the enemy comes knocking at our doors, we must be prepared, equipped and bold! As a believer, we have the authority to command the enemy to flee, but we must be ready. As we do our part as believers, the Lord will certainly do His as well. 

He will fight our battles for us, 

and we can know in Him we are always Victorious!!
