Good Morning,
There are many defeats in life that are heartbreaking for us...things like failure, job loss, financial loss. The most heart-rending of all losses happens when we loose a loved one be it a relative, a friend, or someone else's loss. Sandy Billingham has written about her pain as she watches people she knows as they say goodbye to a loved one. Sandy wrote, "I was deeply moved by their loss and knew they would miss their loved one greatly......In life, I will continue to mourn with those who mourn, knowing our God shall be near to each of those with a broken heart."
In His Great Compassion,
Sandy

"The Lord Is Near To The Broken Hearted"

In the last few weeks I have attended three funerals. Each funeral I
attended touched and hurt my heart deeply. As I spoke with the family members
that lost their loved ones, I saw the pain in their eyes and hearts. As I saw
them interact with others and at times literally break down, tears began to
flow down my face. I was deeply moved by their loss and knew they would miss
their loved one greatly.
If we here on earth are greatly moved in the loss of a loved one, how much
more is Jesus' heart moved. In His Word it says
"The Lord
is near those who have a broken heart." The Lord Jesus is very near to
each and every one
that loses a family member or friend.
Psalm 34:18 A
that loses a family member or friend.
Psalm 34:18 A
He hurts when we hurt and His compassion is never ending. He gently
comforts those that are experiencing the death of a loved one. He releases His
peace and rest to all those that will accept it. Our Lord Jesus is there to
hold us tight when we are grieving. He will never, ever let us go. He
understands what it means to lose a loved one for His very own Son died on the
cross for each of us. He too experienced much pain and grief from the death of
Jesus. He had to watch the agony and excruciating pain His Son went through.
Praise God He rose from the grave, but the Lord still felt that deep, deep hurt
and loss as we all have at some time in our life when we have lost someone we
dearly love.
As we go through life here on earth, we will all at some point have to
experience the loss of a loved one. That may be a parent, sibling, grandparent,
friend, but we will each have to walk through it. The comforting and good news
is that we can always be assured that our Lord will carry us through.
As His Word says, He is near to the broken hearted, and we can know that He will stand true to His Word. His comfort, love, mercy, and peace will always be there for us. Our God will never fail us! He shall deliver abundantly just as He has promised. In life, I will continue to mourn with those who mourn, knowing our God shall be near to each of those with a broken heart.
In His Great Compassion,
Sandy Billingham

When we come to times of suffering
and our lives seems to be crumbling into gravel,
what a blessing to know that God has promised
that He will be close to us.
He is a promise keeping God,
and whatever brings us to our pain and sorrow,
He will remain nearby loving us
through it.
