The topic of this writing is the importance of practicing the Golden Rule in all our dealings. This is a precept that is believed and followed all over the world. Sandy wrote, "Choose His ways, for His ways are always the best ways! You will never regret following the Golden Rule, and, as you do, you can always be assured God is well pleased with You and how you treat His creation."

"Follow The Golden Rule"

We truly live in a different world today then when I was growing up as a child. The Golden Rule has literally fallen to the wayside. In fact, many have no clue what the Golden Rule consists of. If we were all to follow it today, our world would be operating in greater peace, love and unity.

Jesus clearly states in the Gospel of Matthew 7:12, 

"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, 
do also to them, for this is the Law and Prophets."

It is a simple statement Jesus taught, but not an easy one for man to live by. Our flesh wants to think of our needs before others and it is easier to be selfish and inconsiderate than to do the right thing. It is much easier to do what comes naturally than to walk that extra mile for those around us.

But Jesus specifically has asked us to be obedient to His Word. What does that entail when He says, "whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them?"

It means if you don't want others gossiping about you then don't gossip about others. It means wish the best for others and not always the worst. It means pray for those that are mean and spiteful to you instead of giving them what you feel they deserve. It means don't cut that guy off in front of you when you are driving. It means help  that guy fulfill his dreams, and the Lord will see that yours are fulfilled. The list goes on and on.

You will find when you live by the Golden Rule you will experience greater blessings than you could ever imagine. You will walk in His peace and joy because you are being obedient to the Lord's Word. The best thing of all, the Lord is always with you to help you to follow the Golden Rule. He will give you the strength at every turn, no matter how difficult.

Choose His ways, for His ways are always the best ways! You will never regret following the Golden Rule, and, as you do, you can always be assured God is well pleased with You and how you treat His creation.
