Good Morning,
The Saturday offering is considering the proper yardstick for measuring your life. Some people measure by possessions, some measure by their popularity, and some measure by the positions they hold in life. These are good things but not a true measure that they are who they need to be in life. Carol wrote, "So how do you measure your life? We need to be on guard that we don't measure our lives by worldly standards. God wants us to expend time and energy on growing spiritually and possessing the treasure of the Kingdom of God."
What you really need to do is open you Bible and seek to possess what will enrich your life now and through all eternity.

"MEASURING LIFE"

"Then He said to
them,
Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed;
a man's life
does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
Luke 12:15
What is your standard for
measuring your life
-- how well you are doing, what you have accomplished?
Many
people measure their lives by their possessions. they are constantly
looking at what their neighbors have or what the latest advertisements on
television offer. They aren't satisfied unless they have more and better
than everyone else.
God does want us to have all we need in this life --
He wants us to be comfortable and well cared for. However, we don't need
to have such a superabundance of things that taking care of everything consumes
all of our time and energy. All of us are guilty of this to some
extent. When I clean house I often wonder why I have so many knick-knacks
to dust. Sometimes I have actually given some to the thrift shop so they
can make money for charities. There are only so many things we need and
can use. Most of us have more than enough. So how do you measure
your life? We need to be on guard that we don't measure our lives by
worldly standards. God wants us to expend time and energy on growing
spiritually and possessing the treasure of the Kingdom of god. Open you
Bible and seek to possess what will enrich your life now and through all
eternity.
