Friday Writing...11/23/18..."Our Rooms Await Us"

Good Morning.

Today we are reading about our heavenly rooms in the mansions God is preparing for us. Karen Bennett has pointed out the words of the Bible that says that Jesus headed "home" to heaven tp prepare our mansions for us. She wrote, "Walking this life with Jesus is the guarantee of the next life with Him, face to face, in a place He prepares for each and every one of us. This is what we live for and can count on. The promises of God are golden!"

Walk with Jesus into life everlasting!

"Our Rooms Await Us"
Written by
Karen Bennett

In the 14th Chapter of John’s gospel, Jesus is sharing beautiful words of promise and comfort with His disciples, words that extend to us, granting us the same assurances for things yet to come. He talks about our place in the Father’s house that He will prepare for us. Yes, our rooms are being prepared for us by our loving Lord Himself!

Jesus’ invitation to come to Him is a love-filled message telling us He will give us rest. The heavenly place He is preparing for us in His Father’s house will provide just that, that which we all long for and look forward to. It marks the end of a temporal lifetime of constantly fighting the evils of the world, the flesh, and the devil, and ushers in an eternity of peace promised by Jesus for our faith in Him.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
Trust in God, trust also in Me.
In my Fathers house are many rooms,
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
John 14:1-3.

We are labored and heavy laden by our struggles throughout this life. We sin, we repent, but we sin again and again. We look to Jesus and praise Him for being with us and forgiving us through it all. His love lifts a heavy weight from us. We achieve respite from our sins when we repent, thank  Him and know He will be there for the next time and the next.

There’s certainly not a shred of doubt that our Lord walks this earthly journey with us, but we do have trials and tribulations, because of all the sin in the world. What joy it is to know He overcame the world and our promised future is the removal of all that strife. Walking this life with Jesus is the guarantee of the next life with Him, face to face, in a place He prepares for each and every one of us. This is what we live for and can count on. The promises of God are golden!

Oh Promise-filled Lord,
What great comfort it is to know Your word is pure and complete assurance for us. In times of difficulty, we know deep in our hearts the reward that lies ahead of us for our faith in You. It gives us the will and the need to go on, to be Your own, and the peace and hope it provides. Thank You in the name of Jesus!
Amen
