Good Morning,
The theme for today is the responsibility of God's people to speak to others to plant seeds that will grow and help people to find salvation. Lynda wrote, "I may be wrong, but I don't believe that Jesus sacrificed everything so I could ignore the tremendous need for each of us to share our story of salvation with everyone whenever we can."
I am urging you to speak to people about what we believe and the salvation that Jesus sacrificed so that we can live with Him for eternity.

Planting Seeds or Growing Weeds -
With Our Words
Written by
Lynda Kinnard
One of the local newspapers has a column that I enjoy
reading from to time. It quotes bits from
conversations that have been overheard in public places. Just a phrase or two, often amusing, sometimes confusing and occasionally
truly thought-provoking. It's an interesting concept, just a bit of what someone
says; a slice of their thought-life. A
snapshot of who they are.
As Christians, perhaps we should consider the possibility that
someone who is not a believer is within earshot of our conversations. Our words have the power to plant a seed of
faith into someone's heart, or to reinforce
their pain and negative feelings towards Christians and God. Each encounter we have can spread joy or add
to someone else's tangled, overgrown mess.
Truly kind words to another person can be the thing that awakens the
seed of hope in someone's heart and be their inauspicious first step
redemption.
"May these words of my mouth
and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,
and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,
LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer."
Psalms
19:14
If we stay inside our bubble of Christian Isolation, we can forget that the world cannot understand the Bible as believers who study scripture do. Have you ever given an unsolicited scripture lesson to someone who was just asking if God really does loves them? Do we talk about the Ten Commandments and our church's ceremonial habits without sharing God's grace and mercy?
"Mercy triumphs over judgement."
James 2:13b
I may be wrong, but I don't believe that Jesus sacrificed everything so
I could ignore the tremendous need for each of us to share our
story of salvation with everyone whenever we can. This is a challenge for me at best, and feels
far beyond my natural capacity most days.
THANK GOD I don't have to do all by myself!
Let's resolve to be the ones who intentionally speak God's
Truth in love. The more we allow the Holy Spirit to cultivate good fruit in us,
the more we are able to, "Speak and act as those who are going to be judged
by the law that gives freedom.."
James 2:12
