"But God said to him...
This writing starts off with a warning from God found in scripture to people who devote their every effort to build up riches. The better choice is to build up riches through their connections toward God. Carol wrote, "This world cannot bring deep down satisfaction, or lasting peace, or purpose and meaning for life. Neither can the world or any "religion" answer the question: "What happens after I die? Is this all there is?" The only answer is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ -- the Lord of Life."
This would be a good time to think of the way you can base your treasures by having a personal relationship with the Lord of Life. Invite Him into your life.

"Spiritual Poverty"

"But God said to him...
"This very night your life will be demanded from you.
Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?"
Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?"
This is how it will be
with anyone who stores up things
for himself, but is not rich toward God."
Luke 12:20-21
Many people, some who think they are very wealthy by worldly standards, really are poverty stricken. People frequently find that clawing and grasping for worldly wealth brings nothing but a dead-end road. Worldly wealth, in and of itself, is not wrong. God provides for all of us and wants us to be comfortable.
He does, however, want us to put Him first in order to not experience spiritual poverty in the midst of worldly prosperity. Some of the most "well-off" people financially will tell you when asked that they are bored, or there is no quality to their life, or they are still looking for the meaning of why they are alive.
They are
not the only ones. There is nothing outside of Christ! This world
cannot bring deep down satisfaction, or lasting peace, or purpose and meaning
for life. Neither can the world or any "religion" answer the question:
"What happens after I die? Is this all there is?" The
only answer is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ -- the Lord of
Life.
So, how are you?
Are you experiencing
spiritual poverty
spiritual poverty
or
are you rich
toward God?
