We are a group of Christian women (and one man) who write daily devotionals and other articles of interest to women.
We publish daily. Praying that you will enjoy this ministry.

Thank you and God bless,
Corinne Mustafa.......and the Writing Staff of "WFM"

One of our writers is writing a novel, called AFTER THE EVENT, that is published Saturdays separately from the daily posts. There is a link on the left side that will take you to the blog of the novel which is being posted in installments.

Thursday Writing...7/26/18..."Act With Kindness, now!"

Good Morning,

The writing today shows how a woman with a jar of very expensive oil anointed Jesus, much to the annoyance of the people there. Jesus had a word with the complainers saying that they would not have Him much longer. The writing moves to the fact that we should share love and Jesus with others who we come across. Here is a quote from this writing. "Whatever hand of compassion you are prompted to reach out, do not let the moment pass by. Always try to brighten the corner where you are with the love and the light of Jesus."

Spreading God's light around to the ones we see that will benefit. (which is everyone)

"Act With Kindness, now!"

Jesus was at Bethany, a guest at the home of Simon the Leper – a man Jesus had healed of leprosy. He was reclining at the table during dinner, when a woman came in with a beautiful, alabaster flask of costly and precious perfume, the highest quality and most expensive oil.  She walked straight up to Jesus and breaking the seal, poured the fragrant oil over His head in a gesture of extreme devotion.
Some of those who were there saw this and became angry and indignant. They complained to one another and grumbled among themselves. Then the private concerns turned to public criticism against her.

Why has this perfume been wasted?” they said to her, scolding and speaking sharply. “It’s criminal! It was worth a full year’s wages! It could be sold and the money could be given to the poor.” They continued to rebuke her harshly.
But then Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her and causing trouble? Why are you so critical and giving her a hard time for doing a good thing? She has done a wonderful thing and has honored me with this beautiful act of kindness.”
“You will always have the poor with you, and you can help them whenever you wish. But you will not always have Me. I won’t be here much longer.”
Mark 14.3-7

The disciples can’t see any value in pouring so much perfume on Jesus. It is obviously a waste. The woman is demonstrating her love for Him with an abandon and an emotional commitment that few people have ever shown, and He appreciates her love and her faith.
As pilgrims, we are passing through this life only once. Every step along the way in this journey is an opportunity to touch someone positively. Because we will not be passing this way again after this life, we must recognize, and be sensitive and open to, whatever God allows or whoever He brings across our path.

Our life journey is a chain of opportunities to share the love of God, to show the light of Jesus and to erect a memorial beacon on the sands of history. Because this is His cause, it is also our cause.
Whatever act of kindness you wish to do must be done now, for you may not have that opportunity always. Whatever hand of compassion you are prompted to reach out, do not let the moment pass by.

Always try to brighten the corner
where you are with the love and the light of Jesus.

  1. How many acts of kindness and compassion do we not do, because we are afraid
of being criticized for wasting time, money or energy on someone or something that appears to be unworthy? God knows our hearts and intentions, we/I just need to act in faith.
