Saturday Writing...7/28/18..."GOD'S OPPOSITE"

Good Morning

I am a bit late this morning and I apologize.

Today the theme of the writing is the fact that God wishes and plans are often opposite of the things that we think of and desire. Jesus faced that fact during His life when He preached His Godly message. The people were angered with Him because their desires were shown to be outside of the Godly teachings of Jesus. Carol wrote, "Devote yourself to God and let Him show you the way you should go.  The direction will probably be polar opposite to the rest of the world."

Following God not the ways of the world.

"GOD'S OPPOSITE"

"Humble yourselves before the Lord, 

and He will lift you up."

James 4:10

One of the reasons Jesus' teachings weren't always well accepted is because they were opposite to what the establishment and many people expected.  God is the God of opposites: You become rich by giving away your possessions, you are lifted up when you become humble, you will be first when it looks like you are last, you will be most successful as a servant.

The same goes for these teachings in today's society and world.  Most people spend their time and energy "climbing ladders."  This can be corporate regarding a job, in the neighborhood to keep up with the Joneses, trying to get the best grades in school, having to have clothes or electronic gadgets like all of the rest of the people.  It goes on never endingly.

God wants His children to live differently.  He wants to be the One who lifts us up in our lives to where He wants us to be.  We don't have to compare ourselves to anyone.  We don't have to set our own worldly standards.  We don't have to spend our time chasing after things that don't matter in the end.

Devote yourself to God and let Him show you the way you should go.  The direction will probably be polar opposite to the rest of the world.
