Monday Writing...7/16/18..."God, Our Comfort"

Good Morning,

Today the writing is about the comfort that is found from God in the Old Testament and the comfort from Jesus in the New Testament. God has always had our back throughout history as He ushers mankind into a position where he is eligible for salvation  and welcome to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. Collette wrote, "Jesus is both our kinsman redeemer and our redemption. He's got this. It may not look like it if you don't know what His Word says, but trust Him, for He is faithful and true."

Peace love and joy to you for the week to come.

Today's Devotional

"God, Our Comfort"
by Colette Phillips

"Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the
shadow
of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff
they comfort me."
Psalm 23:4

There are far too many people being destroyed in the body... In the flesh. The enemy comes to steal, kill & destroy.

REMEMBER THIS, CHILD OF GOD:

Ol' slue foot, ... Lucifer ... The enemy of your soul, is LIKE A ROARING LION seeking whom he MAY devour. He's a toothless, snaggle-puss lion to the sons & daughters of the most High King, he's nothing more than a blow hard.

If he has our peace, it's because we GAVE it to him. He can't take our Peace, the TRUE perfect Peace from THE Prince of Peace, Jesus. If you have confessed with your mouth and believe in your heart unto righteousness, then you are a child of God, and not until then.

Listen to the words of David the psalmist:

“1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul:

he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness

for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley

 of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:

for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies:
 thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life: and I will dwell
 in the house of the Lord for ever.”
(Psalm 23:1-6 KJV)

If natural, or mortal, death takes this human suit ... this flesh, the "worst" that can happen is still wonderful, because we wake up in the presence of our Father and King.

O, death where is your sting?!

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God,
which giveth us the
victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ."
1 Corinthians 15:55-57

Let us lift up our heads for our Redemption draweth nigh.

JESUS IS BOTH
OUR KINSMAN REDEEMER & OUR REDEMPTION.

HE's got this.
It may not look like it if you don't know
what His Word says, but TRUST HIM, for He is Faithful & True.

In the New Testament, Christ is often regarded as an example of a kinsman-redeemer because, as our brother, He also redeems us because of our great need, one that only He can satisfy. In this way, the Lord Jesus Christ bought us for Himself, out of the curse, out of our destitution; made us His own beloved bride; and blessed us for all generations. He is the true kinsman-redeemer of all who call on Him in faith.

  1. Excellent reminder! I especially like this phrase, "the "worst" that can happen is still wonderful, because we wake up in the presence of our Father and King. ". Death is a doorway for those of us who trust in the LORD.
