Good Morning,
The theme of today's writing is that a person needs to have a purpose in life. First he or she needs to see the value of aligning with Jesus to find the purpose which Jesus is showing for their life. Carol wrote, " Your first goal in life should be to get to know the God who created you, redeemed you, and loves you with an everlasting love. In Him, you'll find the answers to life's most challenging questions."
Following God's purpose for our lives to become useful to ourselves and to the Lord.

I apologize for the lack of illustrations for the devotionals for the last two days. My computer has issues and it is taking time to figure out what road I should follow to rectify the problems.

Today's Devotional
“MERE EXISTENCE”
by Carol Steficek
"For in him we live and move and have our being."
Acts 17:28
How are you? What are you doing -- or should I say accomplishing? Are you merely existing or is there a purpose to your life?
I can't think of anything much worse than to be lying on my deathbed with a ton of regrets and saying: "If only..."
Everyone needs goals in life. Everyone needs to feel useful and that they have made a contribution to their society. It would be difficult, indeed, to get out of bed every morning to nothing -- no worthwhile activity.
Now, I don't mean if you are old or disabled that you can't make a contribution. Many of my shut-ins who I visit as a parish nurse are prayer warriors for their family, church, and our country. Others send cards to church members for special occasions. Some call others who, like themselves, cannot get out. These people still find purpose and meaning in their lives.
It is only by recognizing Jesus as our life source that we will truly find lasting meaning for life -- why we exist and what the meaning of life is. It stands to reason that the Creator knows all about His creatures and will direct them if allowed to do so.
Your first goal in life should be to get to know the God who created you, redeemed you, and loves you with an everlasting love. In Him, you'll find the answers to life's most challenging questions.
