Good Morning,
I love it when what seems like simple Biblical people and Biblical happenings just seem like just that, people and stories. However, when a person digs deep and studies the Bible we see that everything had divine meaning. Collette has taken the story of Ruth and Boaz and showed the divine meaning of the things they represented and the things that they did. These things tell a special story that alluded to the plan of God for salvation. Charlotte wrote, "Boaz RESTED on the threshing floor. Then, Ruth was told to REST IN HIS blanket (Spirit.) Jesus has FINISHED THE WORK..like BOAZ; and RUTH was to go and REST AFTER BOAZ'S work. She no longer had to work for her salvation. He gave to her freely of His grain (Spirit.)"
Ruth and Boaz enjoyed many blessings...the most important which they were in the line of ancestry from which Jesus was birthed...enjoying their story and "Kitty Orion's" symbolism in it.

"Orion and Ruth"

Picture Ruth lying AT THE FEET of Boaz on the threshing floor. Such an odd thing; submissive and humbling. Awkward. I'd pondered this a while, but this one thing perplexed me.
One morning, my little cat was lying at my feet. Orion had a habit of seeking out where I was working and would sit at my feet. If I had a blanket over my legs, when I got up to drink coffee, he’d lie at my feet, on top of the blanket. Suddenly, The Lord reminded me of Ruth and Boaz.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Ruth went into the threshing room, where barley was being winnowed on the floor, and lifted the blanket from Boaz's feet. She laid at his feet, covering herself with the blanket until just before the dawn. Ruth chapters 3-4 tells us of her redemption by Boaz.
Ruth: archetype of Christ’s Bride, the Church
Boaz: archetype of Christ
Barley: perfect grain needing no cultivation. It takes care of itself. Jesus is THE First Fruit. He is barley. We are a TYPE of first fruits, however, we are considered wheat, because we have need of cultivation.
Winnowing: process by which either wheat or barley grain-heads are thrown into the air in the cool breeze of the night and the chaff, or papery husks, are blown away. Grain is left to fall to the threshing floor so it can be gathered and taken to a mill.
Blanket: Comforter; Holy Spirit-by Whom we are 'covered' or sealed until the wedding supper of The Lamb.
The blanket lifted from Boaz's feet: The Lord Jesus had to ascend. His feet had to leave the Mount of Olives before The Comforter could come, He told us.
Ruth was covered with the blanket until Boaz turned back and awakened. This happened when he sent her away, just before the dawn, but not before telling her to hold her blanket (Holy Spirit) while he filled it full (in-filling) and placed it on her back...(Paracletos) ("My burden is light.")
Boaz then went and sat at the gate of the city (The gate represents judgement). With 10 men to witness, (10 the number of testimony) he spoke with the kinsman redeemer that was more closely related giving him first right of refusal. The other kinsman redeemer (The law) could not, or would not 'redeem' her, but GRACE; Jesus Christ as pictured by Boaz; His Mercy & Grace redeemed the church (Ruth).
Boaz RESTED on the threshing floor. Then, Ruth was told to REST IN HIS blanket (Spirit.) Jesus has FINISHED THE WORK..like BOAZ; and RUTH was to go and REST AFTER BOAZ'S work. She no longer had to work for her salvation. He gave to her freely of His grain (Spirit.)
"My Redeemer Lives
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The fields of life, places to roam
and glean the gifts of the Lord
that Hes shares and shows us every day.
Nourishment...Blessings...
Joy...Peace...Love...Insights...Nature
all ours for the taking in these peaceful fields.
These blessings can gathered when we slow down
and ponder the mysteries of life and eternity.
Ruth and Boaz inherited these things
due to the lives they lived and loved God!
