Good morning.
Today's writing is by Cathy Friberg who writes at the beginning of every month. The writing is called, "PERSEVERING PRAYER" The theme is about the importance of friends... heavenly and earthly. Cathy wrote, "I think if I were to give advice to young people or new Christians it would be to pray for God to bring them loving Christian companions who would build them up and point them to the Saviour."
Hope you enjoy this writing! It is a good time to thank the Lord for His friendship to us and for the friends He brings into our lives. All enrich the fabric of our lives.
Blessings from
Cathy & Corinne

"PERSEVERING PRAYER"

I am writing today to encourage those who are praying for the salvation of others, to never give up. We can become discouraged when we are believing for souls to come to Christ. This is especially true when we see no spiritual progress or even when the situation seems to regress. Of course the enemy puts up a fierce battle. He depends on our dashed hopes as a strategy to halt our intercession.
However, I urge you to be wise as a serpent and to...
"not be weary in well doing,
for in due season we will reap
if we faint not."
Galatians 6:9
Pastor and evangelist Greg Laurie writes of a crusade he held in Santa Barbara." A ninety year old man was in attendance at the rally with his granddaughter. His wife had prayed for him for years. On her deathbed she begged him to give his life to Christ but he refused. So there he was at a Harvest Crusade. The service was coming to a close, and as Greg Laurie gave the invitation for salvation, his granddaughter said, "Grandpa, do you want to go forward? He responded, "No!"
"Come on, Grandpa," she said. He told her, "It is cold down there. I don't want to go down there." She said, "No, grandpa, I think you will like what you find when you get down there."
So he went forward. He prayed the prayer and asked Christ to come into his life. He said afterward, "Now I know what my wife was talking about. Now I know that I am going to see her again!"
The Lord had honored the persevering prayers of a Godly wife. Even though she had already gone on to heaven, her husband did eventually receive Jesus as Savior.
but that everyone would come
to repentance."
2 Peter 3:9
Jesus gave His life on a cruel cross that every person could receive eternal salvation. God will honor your prayers for the lost. Let us be like the widow in Luke 18 who kept coming to the unjust judge for an answer to her plea. Though the judge had no fear of God or man, he finally granted her request. How much more will our faithful and loving Father in Heaven answer our persistent appeals. Jesus bids us to stay the course in prayer. My heart's cry is that you would never give up on praying for your loved ones. Your very next prayer could be the "tipping point" at which your request would be granted.

Thank you for your timely message. I have been praying for several family members for years. Some who have been unable to get past the damage done by
ReplyDeletemisunderstood teachings from the past. But I am not going to look for them to do or say what pleases me. I will just keep praying for them to accept the salvation that is there for them, and trust the LORD for the rest!
