Good Morning,
Do you spend a lot of time with a long, morose face that cannot see humor to save your life? Some days are like that. We carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. Karen Bennett has shared the fact that God does have a sense of humor and it is one of His gifts to us. Karen wrote, "Lord, we thank You so much for Your wonderful gift of humor and the laughter that goes with it. It lightens our problems and brings happiness to our hearts. May we never use it in a demeaning way, but only as You intended! In Jesus’ precious name. Amen!"
Have a happy-hearted day.

"Let Go and Laugh!"

Laughter is a wonderful gift from God! Wouldn’t you have loved to see Jesus watching children at play and laughing at their antics? Or how about Him having to laugh hard at something funny one of His disciples said? “A sense of humor is a gift from God,” a very wise pastor told me once, and then added, “Use it.”
It’s true! We don’t have to take everything so seriously or chide ourselves mercilessly if we make a mistake! Sometimes we take ourselves far too seriously, but when you’re able to laugh at yourself, those times can be far less embarrassing for you and any others around you.
If we make a ridiculous mistake, cracking a joke lightens the situation and leaves us feeling okay, rather than wanting to hide in a closet or run away. It balances the situation. It also helps you from sinking into the doldrums, but we don’t want to use humor in a derogatory way. We can laugh at ourselves without demeaning ourselves. If we put ourselves down, or another person down, it’s no longer silly and funny. It causes discomfort in those around you and the end result is not what we were looking for. There is no humor in hurting someone’s feelings. Those around you will feel uncomfortable if you demean yourself as well. Worse yet, they may even grow to resent you.
Laughter is a wonderful sound. It’s also contagious. We use it to counteract our problems. There are times we can reminisce about our troubles with a laugh or two. Laughing is even good for your health!
When you make mistakes, especially silly ones, endeavor to make light of them. Don’t let them hang over your head like a dark cloud! Look to God for your relief!!!
“He will yet fill your mouth with laughing,
and your lips with rejoicing.”
Job 8:21
Watch Christian comedians on television or DVD. Lighten your load with laughter. Again, humor is a wonderful gift from God! Enjoy it and share it with others.
“And Sarah said, ‘God has made me laugh,
and all who hear will laugh with me’.”
Genesis 21:6.
Lord, we thank You so much for Your wonderful gift of humor and the laughter that goes with it. It lightens our problems and brings happiness to our hearts. May we never use it in a demeaning way, but only as You intended! In Jesus’ precious name. Amen!
