Good morning,
Toddy's author named jer writing, "Your Tongue....Like A Sharp Razor..." She talks about an uncomfortable pair of shoes that have a sharp staple that hurts her foot and compares it to sharp tongues that hurt others by the meanness of their words. Sandy wrote. "Just as I am now experiencing comfortable, happy feet...as I speak encouraging words that build those up around me, the atmosphere becomes filled with the happiness of Jesus!"
It is a nice analogy.
God bless

"Your Tongue....Like A Sharp Razor"
I recently purchased some high dollar walking shoes, which I had been putting off for quite some time. I am willing to pay the extra money so I can have happy feet!
As I was breaking my shoes in, I would notice when I walked on large pebbles, my right foot in a certain area would exhibit sharp, razor, pains. I kept blaming it on a large callous I had on the bottom of my right foot each time I experienced the pain. This went on for quite some time.... and let me tell you... the sharpness of the pain was excruciating!!
I kept thinking to myself, "How can this be? I paid good money for these shoes." For me to have this problem was perplexing!
Finally I decided to investigate the inside and bottom of my new right shoe thoroughly!! And that I did! As I checked out the shoe I discovered a very, very sharp, thick, metal staple on the bottom wedged in the shoe. It looked like the type that you use with staple guns attaching things to houses and such. I had some how managed to step on it at some point while I was breaking my shoes in.
The mystery had been solved!! I quickly removed the metal staple and have not had another sharp, razor pain since!!
I thought about how the words that we say sometimes can be quite sharp and painful to the people around us. When we are not walking in the spirit and walking in God's love it is easy to say hurtful, painful, razor sharp, words when we are angry or when things are not going our way.
God's Word says...
"Your tongue devises destruction,
like a sharp razor, o worker of deceit."
Psalm 52:2
Such a small part of our body, but our mouths can do a lot of damage and get us into a lot of trouble! The sharpness of our words can cut deeply into people's hearts.
Maybe it is time for me to do a thorough investigation on the words I have spoken recently to others. If, indeed, they have been sharp and hurtful to hear and to the heart, I may need to repent to God and the person I spoke them to and make things right. I may need to discover a new, loving, kind way on how to communicate in God's grace, and mercy and gentleness.
As I choose to speak words of life to those around me there will be no room for destruction or deceit but blessings!
Just as I am now experiencing comfortable, happy feet...as I speak encouraging words that build those up around me, the atmosphere becomes filled with the happiness of Jesus!
Happy In Jesus!
