Saturday Writing..."SEEK ME"...8/19/17

Good morning,

Today's devotional, "SEEK ME," presents the fact that Jesus wants to have relationship with us.  To achieve that and understand what Jesus has for us in life, we must communicate with Him and to pray with Him. The author wrote, "Only those who spend time truly seeking Him will really get to know Him and have a relationship with Him.  He longs to share His love with each of His children, if only they would seek His face." 

We pray that people become attuned to the fact that having the behavior of seeking Jesus frequently and seriously will result in hearing from Him frequently during prayer time.

"SEEK ME"

"I love those who love me, 

and those who seek me find me." 

Proverbs 8:17

    

  One of my favorite games when I was a child was "Hide and Seek."  When we were very small it wasn't much of a challenge.  As we grew up, however, it got to be fun and interesting for we got pretty good at finding hiding places which were difficult to discover.

     

      Jesus wants us to seek Him.  What exactly does that mean?  In a sense, Jesus is hidden.  Those who call the cross foolishness will not find Him.  He is also hidden from those who are satisfied with a superficial relationship with Him.  You can't get to know Him one hour a week in a worship service.  Nor can you get to know Him with an occasional Bible study or a quick prayer.

      To know Jesus you have to put effort into the relationship, just like you have to do with any of your other relationships -- parents, spouses, children, good friends.  You need to spend time to get to know them, communicate with them, share your life with them.

     

   
It's no different with Jesus.  Only those who spend time truly seeking Him will really get to know Him and have a relationship with Him.  He longs to share His love with each of His children, if only they would seek His face.
