Tuesday Writing by Sandy Billingham......7/4/17

Good morning,

"Delight Yourself In The Lord" is the title of Sandy Billingham's writing for today. She compares the delight of happy children playing to how we should delight in the Lord. Sandy wrote, "As we delight and immerse ourselves  in the Lord Jesus, our big bonus is that He shall give us the desires  of our heart. Experience and anticipate the benefits of delighting in our beautiful Heavenly Father as you taste and see His unfathomable goodness!!

Today's Devotional
"Delight Yourself In The Lord"

I never tire of watching children play. It is so much fun to watch the expressions on their faces when they are having a delightful time. They squeal and have these big silly grins along with bursts of hilarious laughter.

I witnessed such the last two days. Our neighbor recently lost his young wife, who left 4 beautiful children of  which the youngest is 7. He is quite overwhelmed at this time and needing lots of prayer and encouragement and help with his family. 

When  I am able I have been taking his youngest, Austin  to the park or pool. Austin could literally stay all day at the pool  without batting a eyelash. As he played in the pool and continuously  jumped  off the side, each  time he would squeal with  great  delight. The bonus for  Austin  was  when his new friend's Dad would throw him up in the air high, and he would land in the water with a humongous splash! I don't  think he ever stopped smiling the whole time we  were  there.

Austin was overwhelmingly delighted at his time at the pool. How much more as His Sons and  Daughters, can we gleefully and joyfully delight ourselves in the Lord.

His  Word tells us...  

"Delight yourself also  in the Lord,
And He shall give you

 the desires of your heart."Psalms 34:7

He desires us to pursue Him with all of our hearts, delighting in Him with complete abandonment. We then shall experience that outpouring of His overflowing joy. As we seek Him first, we too shall be radiant in Him, and, just as Austin was, be grinning from ear to ear, bathed in heavenly laughter.

Austin was so desiring to be thrown in the water, and the desire of his heart  was fulfilled. That was Austin's big bonus! As we delight and immerse ourselves  in the Lord Jesus, our big bonus is that He shall give us the desires  of our heart.

Experience and anticipate the benefits of delighting in our beautiful Heavenly Father as you taste and see His unfathomable goodness!!
