Good morning,
Today's writing by Karen Bennett is on the them of promises. She shows the importance of keeping them just as the Lord always does. Karen wrote, "He will be with us always to the end of the age. He will help us and strengthen us, go through all our trials with us, and he will never give us more than we can handle without giving us a way out! He has promised that our repentance will forgive all our sins and said we will have eternal life with Him without any tears or pain or sorrow."
Maybe we can trust some people to deliver on their promises, but we cannot always trust people. However we never have to worry about the promises that God has given us. Count on those promises.
Promises should be sacred. We should never knowingly make a promise we can't or won't keep, or make one we aren't certain we can keep. We're told we're only as good as our word.
He calls us His own and says we are His. Our names are written in the palm of His hand. Have you ever heard anything so beautiful? Has your heart ever fluttered so before? Has your soul ever been so stirred? Have you ever been more confident? Our God is love, He is awesome, He is truth and mercy and compassion! He is pure! He is definitely trustworthy!
Prayers are lifted up daily for you

"Broken Promises"
Promises should be sacred. We should never knowingly make a promise we can't or won't keep, or make one we aren't certain we can keep. We're told we're only as good as our word.
Of course, when someone breaks a promise to us, we feel betrayed, let down, or just not cared for. We become angry, hurt, or upset!
Then there are the occasions when we make a promise in good faith, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to stand by our word. We attempt to keep the promise in any way open to us, but it just isn't going to happen. We feel badly, especially if the one we promised has been placed in an unpleasant predicament due to us not being able to follow through. People place tremendous value on promises, because we have been taught the importance of them and keeping our word!
We've had many promises made to us that seem almost too good to be true, ones that concern the most important things in our lives. But, these promises ARE true and there is no chance they will ever be broken. We can trust them with all our hearts! Why? Because they have been made to us by our loving Lord. They will always be kept! God is as good as His word! We are told repeatedly throughout scripture that His promises are totally reliable! We're told we can live on them.
Jesus answered,
"It is written, 'Man does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.' "
Matthew 4:4
His promises are our staff of life. We receive comfort, peace, joy, strength, confidence, guidance, and everything we need for life from the word of God.
Some of them are, never leaving us or forsaking us. He will be with us always to the end of the age. He will help us and strengthen us, go through all our trials with us, and he will never give us more than we can handle without giving us a way out! He has promised that our repentance will forgive all our sins and said we will have eternal life with Him without any tears or pain or sorrow.
For...
"All men are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field,
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of the Lord stands forever."
1 Peter 1:24-25.
1 Peter 1:24-25.
Dear Father, Thank You for the incomparable joy Your promises bring to us, for the comfort and confidence that permeate our hearts and minds because of Your word. Thank You for telling us we are Yours, loving us, and showing us each and every day with Your blessings! Help us to share these things, Your wonderful reassuring words, with as many others as we can. In Jesus' name. Amen.
