Saturday Writing..."G-I-G-O"...7/29/17

Good morning

Carol Steficek named her writing "G-I-G-O."  (Garbage In-Garbage Out) The theme is self evident. In life we are bombarded with news and other things that distract and are not even worthy of consideration. Carol wrote, " God has given us magnificent brains.  He wants us to fill them with positive and beneficial information, including His Word, so we can lead useful and productive lives.  Some of what is happening in our world today is a result of garbage in.  See and listen to evil long enough and evil becomes an outward expression of the person's life -- garbage out."

We should aim to pay attention only to things that are beautiful and beneficial.

"G-I-G-O"

      Most of you are familiar with G-I-G-O -- Garbage In Garbage Out.  That may be an old saying for some of you.  Today I suspect there are letters for lots of sayings which I'm not even aware of since I don't text and am a "baby" with computer technology.

     

     

     However, this is an important concept today with all that bombards our minds.  It really does matter what you spend your time listening to, viewing on television or at the movies, reading, playing on your computer games, surfing the web for information, or whatever -- there is lots and lots of garbage out there.

     

   

     God has given us magnificent brains.  He wants us to fill them with positive and beneficial information, including His Word, so we can lead useful and productive lives.  Some of what is happening in our world today is a result of garbage in.  See and listen to evil long enough and evil becomes an outward expression of the person's life -- garbage out.

     

God is very explicit in His Word: 

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true...

noble...right...pure...lovely...admirable... 

-- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy 

-- think about such things."

Philippians 4:8

     It is a sobering thought to realize we become what we think about.
