Good morning,
Today the reading is titled "WOUNDED HEALERS," and it was written by Carol Steficek.
Her topic includes the fact that Jesus took our punishment and He was a healer of the suffering. Think about the title. That is the opening to the fact that we, who are wounded, have a calling to also step into the healing work of Jesus. Carol wrote, "We have all been wounded. God has come to our rescue. He expects us, in turn to heal other's wounds. Who can best be a healer? One who has been likewise wounded and can understand the one who needs healing."

It is my hope that many of us reach out to help people who are suffering and need healing. It would mean being as Jesus was.
God bless

Today's Devotional
"WOUNDED HEALERS"
"But He was
pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
He was crushed for our iniquities;
the
punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,
and by his wounds we are healed."
and by his wounds we are healed."
Isaiah 53:5
How does Jesus know us? How does He know our needs and longings?
How is He able to help us? Jesus became true man as well as being true
God. He could only know our struggles by entering into them with
us. He could only save us from our sins by taking all of them upon
Himself in our place.
How do we help heal people we come in contact with? We must do the same
thing for them that Jesus does for us. We must enter into their
struggles. We must go to them to rescue them. We must put aside our
own needs and become aware of the needs of others. We must enter into
their lives. Only then can we become true blessings to them.
The book of James in the New Testament talks about faith without works being
dead. It doesn't help anyone who is cold and hungry if you just say a
blessing over them and leave them where they are miserable. It doesn't
help anyone who is mourning the loss of a loved one if there are no arms to
encircle them and no one to dry their tears.
We have all been wounded. God has come to our rescue. He expects
us, in turn to heal other's wounds. Who can best be a healer? One
who has been likewise wounded and can understand the one who needs healing.
