Saturday Writing........10/8/16

Good morning,

Carol Steficek is the writer of today's devotional. The title is "Lead On." Carol's theme is that no matter how harsh the climate (be it weather or be it national problems) the only one who is able to help us navigate is God. Carol wrote, "The Lord waits for you and me to recognize who the only One is who can truly be counted on to satisfy our needs -- Himself.  It is the God of the Bible who will supply our needs and lead us in the paths of righteousness."

  "LEAD ON"                                   

"The Lord will guide you always; 

he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land 

and will strengthen your frame.  

You will be like a well-watered garden, 

like a spring whose waters never fail." 

Isaiah 58:11

     I live in Arizona in the Sonoran Desert where the average rainfall is a mere seven inches a year.  In the summer it is a sun-scorched land.  I can relate to the need for the Lord in a climate such as this.

     God is talking not only about guiding us through life physically, restoring us and keeping us healthy and refreshed, but also spiritually.  This is an ever changing world.  There really is nothing that is permanent that we can totally rely upon.

     Right now we are experiencing extremes of weather and climate changes all over the world.  The financial market fluctuates on a daily basis.  There are wars and rumors of wars.  The job market  has failed many people.  Too many people are relying on support from a government which also may fail any day.  People are searching for "religions" to guide them but are finding failed efforts leading only to dead ends.  The only thing we can count on right now is more change.

     The Lord waits for you and me to recognize who the only One is who can truly be counted on to satisfy our needs -- Himself.  It is the God of the Bible who will supply our needs and lead us in the paths of righteousness.

     Feeling a little dry?  Come to the well-spring of life in Jesus Christ.
