Good morning...
I hope you all are well. Today is my wedding anniversary, and we are celebrating on a mini vacation. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Today's devotional is entitled "Speak Words Of Life" and is written by Sandy Billingham. It speaks to the importance of always controlling what we say to the edification of all who hear what we speak.

 This past weekend myself and two other friends had a mini prayer retreat. We just got away and spent time together and with the Lord in His Word, seeking His face and listening to His voice. It was truly life changing!

The big thing we sensed the Lord was showing us over and over again was about the words that come out of our mouth. Our words are powerful; whether that be powerful in death or in life. God takes into account the words that we speak and that is something to not take lightly.

We prayed that the Lord would put a guard upon our mouths and that we would only speak those words that are a blessing to us, to our family and to those we have contact with on a regular basis. We asked the Lord to anoint our mouths as well. We all three desired to honor our Lord and the people in our life, and that begins much of the time in the words we speak to them or about them.

We searched out several passages in the Bible about our words and there are several scriptures that tell us the importance of what we speak. Particularly out of Psalm 19:14... 

 "Let the words of my mouth and meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer."

So not only what we say is important but what is going on in our heart. For me those things are a daily prayer. My heart is to please the Lord in every way. I desire my words I speak and the things I dwell on in my heart be fully acceptable in God's sight. 

We certainly cannot do that on our own, but as we press into the Lord for His strength, He will help us to walk that out.  And when we don't, we can repent and He will be faithful to forgive us.

Lord, 

thank you that you accepted Abrams belief, his trust in you as righteousness. Lord, no one can measure up to your standards except for Jesus. But let those that are reading this and their family members believe in you, Lord, Let them trust in you and let them also recieve credit for their trust. Let them accept Jesus sacrifice for their sins so that they will be considered as righteous in your sight. Holy and pleasing to you. In Jesus name amen,
